  1. The Beatles - All Too Much I had to listen to this one again and boy am I glad I did! This is definitely more psychedelic. Kinda reminds me of Robert Wyatt.
  2. The Beatles - Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds Well shit, how does it get better than this?
  3. The Beatles - The Long and Winding Road Make it stop! The flood of memories going through my head is overwhelming me, I'm gonna start crying in classes writing about these songs. I think I've convinced myself to go on a Beatles binge now. Will start tonight.
  4. The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps This song is also one of the greatest songs ever, period. I've always found it similar to Van der Graaf Generator's Into a Game, which I do enjoy better but I still absolutely love this song to no end. The Beatles were truly magical, f*** all those dudes who think they were too mainstream.
  5. The Beatles - All You Need Is Love I was obsessed with this song when I was very young. God, it's impossible to write good melodies, the Beatles took them all.
  6. The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever One of the greatest songs ever period.
  7. The Beach Boys - Our Prayer Well...that was strange. I haven't heard The Beach Boys in a really long time. I saw someone write on argument on how they should be proto-prog on progarchives. Doesn't seem like such a farfetched idea after this. And I know for a fact I've heard this many times before.
  8. Syd Barrett - Milky Way More of the amazing same, just haven't heard this one in a way. The voice...
  9. Syd Barrett - Word Song I had to listen to this one again since I haven't heard it in forever. Pleasantly surprised, and what more can I say, it's Syd Barrett! It's very pretty sounding, I probably like it even more than Octopus but then again, Octopus has so many memories surrounding it.
  10. Syd Barrett - Octopus I don't know what it is about this song but this seriously has the most trance-inducing feel. Always been my favorite Barrett song, I guess because it is associated with some strange memories of mine, but it is a great song.
  11. The Balloon Farm - A Question of Temperature This I do like, but nowhere near what I'd call top 500 songs of all time. Sorry!
  12. The Band - The Weight Yeah, I've heard this one before too. It has a great feel to it, I love this kinda stuff, but actively listen to it as much as I should. I've always loved the piano bits.
  13. This movie was perfect because it was so much fun. It wasn't extremely deep or anything like that, but it's rare to come across such a simply enjoyable music. Probably the coolest action ever, some great humor, and then there the sheer awesomeness of seeing so many badasses work together as a team.
  14. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ May 3 2012, 10:06 PM) Hopefully the new album is as good as A Grounding in Numbers. Hammill said that its all improv and instrumental, like the second disc of Present but still different. Its awesome that a band that's been around for over 40 years is still changing their style. Can't wait until NEARfest! I wonder if they'll meet the fans after the show. If you meet them, please please please say hi for me, tell them a friend in Texas is a big fan and love their work
  15. Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - La Conquista Della Posizione Eretta My favorite RPI album and one of my favorites ever, but seriously L'evoluzione is a million times better than this song
  16. Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Metamorfosi Banco is one of my favorite RPI bands, and this is one of my favorite songs, specifically the surreal piano sections about a minute in.
  17. Astra - The Weirding I like the last one better, but this had some wonderful moments as well. I don't know though, it reminds me of some strange memories, I need to listen to this more often.
  18. Don't forget to check out Beardfish, there's a link back there somewhere.
  19. Astra - Beyond to Slight the Maze I've been meaning to get into Astra for a long time now but for a reason I don't even know I've avoided them, and I'm glad I'm checking them out know. Psychedelic bliss, that's all. The ending is ridiculously tasty.
  20. Ash Ra Tempel - Le diable dans la maison That really made me feel like I was possessd or if there was a devil nearby I dig this band, will buy the album soon, probably in two or three weeks. If it's on iTunes...don't know where else I could get it
  21. Ash Ra Tempel - Amboss Woah...mindfuck is all I have to say. I listened to Ash Ra Tempel and Amon Duul II back when I was getting into prog and it didn't do much for me but now...holy shit. I need to get more into Krautrock. And I really don't know what to say, it had me tripping out...
  22. Aquarian Age - 10,000 Words in a Cardboard Box Reminds me of Caravan a good deal, specifically In the Land of Grey and Pink. I like this stuff but I like Caravan better...but of course this is after one listen. I suppose I'll come across this again later. Steve Howe is on here, supposedly? Well I can somewhat discern his tone...
  23. Ange - Ces Gens-La I understand (most of) the lyrics now, thanks to French 3 It sounds like a less surreal but more psychedelic version of Genesis with a dash of King Crimson, if you get what I'm saying. I dig it, I've been meaning to check this band out for a while, this convinced me to do so sooner rather than later.
  24. QUOTE (marblesmike @ May 2 2012, 10:00 PM) Some of you people are just ignorant. Being surprised that this was mellow and not some prog-metal supergroup? SW and MA have been saying as much since they started working on the album last year. From what I've seen over the internet, those who knew what to expect like it, and those who didn't seem to hate it. This will be one of those albums where people are divided. I personally like it, although I will agree it isn't something I'd feel compelled to listen to all that often. But when I do, I will certainly enjoy it. Different strokes. No need to start with such a condescending tone. Not everybody follows the music news around so well. That said, I knew what to expect and I've enjoyed what I've heard so far, and quite a lot actually.
