  1. It's been a heart-wrenching weekend, which goes without saying for any and everyone visiting this great Rush forum. But as bad as it's been, it's been wonderful to see so many news stories and tributes coming out to honor the man who changed all of our lives. To that end, I've been collecting all of those tributes and posting them at the following link: http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2020/01/the-passing-of-rock-legend-neil-peart.html I'll continue to add more as I come across them. Sigh.
  2. Today marked the release of the highly anticipated book Rush: Wandering the Face of the Earth - The Official Touring History. For those still on the fence about whether or not to buy this book, you can now see a preview of it, including numerous photos, at the following link: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/wandering-the-face-of-the-earth.php As someone who has had the book for a couple of weeks now, I can honestly say it is WELL worth the money. It goes well beyond a simple list of tour dates and set lists throughout Rush's history. There are numerous stories, photos, concert ads, and so much more that pack the over 400 pages of this hefty book. Without question, a must-have for all Rush fans...

  8. Hi, everyone. I'm helping a friend sell his Limited Edition Alex Lifeson R40 Les Paul Axcess guitar which is only one (#37) of 50 ever made that were signed AND played by Alex himself. More about the guitar: In celebration of Rush's 40th Anniversary, Gibson Custom presents the Limited Edition Alex Lifeson R40 Les Paul Axcess with 7A quilt maple tops in a lush Ruby Red R40 finish. It also features a Limited Edition "Starman" R40 die-caste medallion covering the rhythm/treble switch access cavity. Created through extensive work with Alex Lifeson himself, the Gibson Custom Signed Alex Lifeson 40th Anniversary Les Paul Axcess Quilt similarly redefines the boundaries of the classic Les Paul: packed in a single remarkable instrument, this guitar carries all of the traditional tones that have made the Les Paul legendary, along with unprecedented levels of sonic and performance versatility. If you are interested in this guitar, please send me a private message to discuss pricing and shipping. Please feel free to share this post with others. Thank you, all.
  9. I've always been interested in the 'behind-the-scenes' aspect of a Rush tour; particularly the entire stage design and lighting direction. Long-time LD Howard Ungerleider revealed some interesting information about how he went about designing Rush's 30th Anniversary tour back in 2004 in an interview that appeared in the 2004 issue of Professional Lighting & Production Magazine. Though its 15 years old, the interview was never available online -- until now: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/prfessional-lighting-production-11.2004.php Enjoy the inside look... -John

  18. CORRECTION: He'll be the guest DJ on 80's on 8, not Classic Rewind (I just heard the ad). It's odd - Rush is played often on Classic Rewind, but I've never heard them get played on 80s on 8. Whatever...should still be good. I hope.
