  5. Still haven't plucked down your hard-earned cash for a copy of Geddy's fantastic book? Well, you can now read a sample preview of it online: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/gl-bbbob.php But trust me - nothing compares to holding this massive book in your hands as you make your way through the 400+ pages... Enjoy-
  6. Geddy appears on the cover of the March 2019 issue of Vintage Guitar magazine. There's a nice, lengthy interview in the issue with him that you can now read at the following link: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/vintage-guitar-03.2019.php Enjoy-
  7. CORRECTION: He'll be the guest DJ on 80's on 8, not Classic Rewind (I just heard the ad). It's odd - Rush is played often on Classic Rewind, but I've never heard them get played on 80s on 8. Whatever...should still be good. I hope.
  8. Rush appear on the cover of the December 2018 issue of PROG Magazine. You can read the two articles that appear in the issue at this link: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/prog-12.2018.php Enjoy-

Plus there's a large amount of new artwork and rarely (if ever) seen photos. All of that, and more, is now fully online at the following links: Liner Notes: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/albums-hemispheres-40th.php Artwork: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/imagedb-hemispheres-40th.php Enjoy-

  14. Given the lack of originality in Hollywood, perhaps the Clockwork Angels universe will finally make it to film ... http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2018/10/clockwork-lives-optioned-for-tv-film.html Imagine the soundtrack!
  15. It's about time this was announced... http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2018/10/rushs-40th-anniversary-edition-of.html And I even like the cover art :) More details to follow soon...
  16. Although these 'special editions' of Geddy's upcoming book are pricey, they do look really sweet. More info here: http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2018/10/luxe-and-ultra-limited-edition-versions.html
  17. This is the 'anniversary' of when Geddy first joined the band, which was one week after Alex, John, and Jeff Jones performed live under the name of 'Rush' for the first time.
  18. Well put. Imagine August 17, 1974 when Geddy was 21, Alex was 20, and Neil had joined less than 3 weeks prior. Why that date? Because it’s the earliest concert date I could find with them playing a big arena. They were to share the night with Uriah Heep and Manfred Mann at the Charleston Civic Center which could then seat between 7000-9000. This was probably an even bigger night than any on the AFTK tour since it truly was the start of their arena life. https://www.concerta...nn-s-earth-band Actually, their first concert together was a couple days earlier - on August 14th, 1974 at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. This was the very first show with Neil. Source: https://www.cygnus-x...rdates.php#RUSH
  19. Yes, and it was the best version of the band ever. Who knows, if Jeff had stayed on, Lunatic Fringe could have been a Rush song! :)
  20. Well, give or take 50 years ago given the debate about when the band ACTUALLY first performed live. Still, 50 years is 50 years :) More about those early days of Rush's lineup available here: http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2018/09/geddy-lee-joined-rush-fifty-years-ago.html

    Tour Maps

A friend of mine (huge Rush collector) has most, if not all, of the tour itineraries. One of these days I'm going to have to borrow them so I can scan them for the site...

    Tour Maps

For those interested in the touring history of Rush over the years, a new feature at my site may be of interest - the Rush Tour Maps. Made up of 30 individual geographic maps, each image tracks the routes - from venue to venue - of each major tour. There are also some geographic heat maps to show where the band has played the most. https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/tourmaps.php Enjoy-
  24. A friend of mine went the last time (and shared some swag with me). He said it was absolutely amazing. He spent time chatting with Geddy and Alex, not to mention drinking and eating with them. How do you put a price tag on that? :) What was the swag? Geddy and Alex were there the whole time, right? Yes, they were there the whole time. Rode on the train both ways and were very approachable. Last time there were auctions for some great Rush swag... but all guests received a bag full of Rush goodies including hats, shirts, stickers, etc. The auction had some higher-end items like an amp and, IIRC, a Rush-theme mini-fridge. I'll ask my friend for some additional details.
