While there are now eleven different Rush compilation CDs out there, I have to admit that the song selection from the Icon series is pretty decent...and the price at $11.88 for a double-CD is certainly right. The October 2004 issue of the UK's Classic Rock Magazine featured Rush on the cover and included five lengthy articles / interviews with the band -- including the first major interview with Neil Peart in more than a decade. I really enjoy HYF. It's an album that has aged remarably well over the years. And I know, at the time it was released, that the band really thought this was the pinnacle of their career (perhaps Alex didn't quite feel that way, but I recall Geddy and Neil commenting as such). My Review of Hold Your Fire Think I'll pop that in the CD changer on my commute home tonight...

With Neil about to perform his first televised drum solo on US television, I decided to go back to a really great and in-depth article that appeared in the April 2006 issue of Modern Drummer magazine. The article (actually, articles) focus on Neil's soloing prowess as well as somewhat of a making of his instructional DVD 'Anatomy of a Drum Solo' There are some great pics of Neil as well behind the R30 kit.
