Moving to somewhere that isn’t broken is weak. Staying where you are and putting in the effort to help fix it is strong.

Vaguely my stance on public vs charter schools

None of my tax dollars should go to a charter school

  2. And no I’m not going to get off this soapbox. Energy for days. I regularly fight city engineers to stop them from attempted retarded car centric implements that will kill or maim pedestrians and cyclists.

We can’t ask god to do all the work.

  3. Suburbanites tyrannizing the city.

You should not get to dictate how a city runs itself when you do not live in it. That includes state governments trying to specifically bully cities.

And any big city that has excessive suburbs within city limits and allowing to dilute the vote with suburban whims in the urban area is f***ed beyond repair.

Thank god Salt Lake City is only a fraction of the county. If it was bigger, you’d have shit like Murray or West Valley suburb people trying to vote in more parking lots and higher speeds and more death downtown

A new Prelude coming to town but it won't be acceptable to many "purists" because it's a hybrid. Car and/or Driver.

Quite possibly my mom’s next car. She’s been driving Accord Coupes for 13 years. She has always wanted the Prelude nameplate. She almost bought one new in the early 90s but financing failed. She really likes how this new one looks.

  5. Sure our distant southern Salt Lake County suburb is acceptable, and happily only a mile from a TRAX stop, but we yearn to return to the promised land one day. I'm talking of course about Salt Lake City. Purchase prices are steep, but we can do it.

That's the damndest thing about urbanism. It costs a lot to live in it, because it's so highly in demand.

There is little reason for huge pick up trucks to be whipping around the streets in my neighborhood.

yes, let the urbanism flow through you

A Silverado makes one look like a complete f***in' jackass when a Colorado would do perfectly fine. Midsize trucks are very capable and look right-sized. Today's "full size" trucks look like goddamned behemoths. An affront to humanity.

And they kill pedestrians! A modern full-size truck's hood is 12"+ taller than my 4Runner's. It adds up.

I built one at the website and in order to get it interesting, the MSRP went way up. I would rather spend a few more dollars on that little BMW convertible I’ve been pining for.

    Correct.

You can either man up, show your wife that your T levels are still in the acceptable range and buy that hawt Z4, and earn my eternal admiration and envy

or you can not buy it like a massive gaper, earning my disdain

    the choice is yours

If you haven't driven one of these 2020+ Z4's, you'll probably have a shit-eating grin by the time you're done, especially if it's a 6cyl.

I just read and maybe posted here an article from one of the big three legacy magazines that your hot take is to be ignored and that car has to be given a second look.

Look all you want. It's got a whatever generic turbo V6 Infinity came up with 10 years ago, a totally whatever automatic trans, and new exterior bodywork on a 22 year old heavy platform. All for very nearly as much money* as the modern design Supra that has better everything.

*The unobtanium $43k base model doesn't count. Nobody wants an open rear diff in a 400hp car.

Maybe someone wrote this article out of sympathy for Nissan. A 2023+ Z shows up to C&C regularly, it's just not special. It's an older car that got a heavy refresh in an attempt to stay relevant. I don't even consider the Z a Supra competitor, I think it's more fair to call it a Mustang GT competitor due to curb weight.

Idaho has a lot going for it in the scenery and outdoor activity area, but any government that wants to prosecute it's citizens for traveling out of state to receive a medical procedure, isn't a place rational people want to live.

I guess compared to the midwest Idaho has a lot of scenery and outdoors, but it's always been a distant second fiddle to my native Utah. It just has less of everything, and a lesser version of everything. The north panhandle and the sawtooths are fairly nice, but everything else is a huge sea of nothing.

I have a cousin named Kelvin. Last I knew he was in the Galveston, TX area but I haven't seen nor heard of him for 50+ years. Not sure of his highness or brightness.

Galveston is also a stupid-ass name

I think JohnnyRaaj went there recently
