Found meself in this unsavory predicament earlier this week. After a luxurious sleep in on my first day of a long awaited vacation from the workplace, I was looking forward to settling in with a nice cuppa wake-up coffee accompanied by a delicious biscotti only to discover the cookie jar was empty. It was such a let-down.
I recovered with a slice of toasted sourdough bread smeared with my mother's homemade cherry jam, though

Many a rock band, especially during the '70's, were influenced by Led Zeppelin so it wouldn't surprise me if some sampling occurred, albeit subliminally.

Sorry for your disappointment.
Christmas has become overrated, anyhow.

Jello? notsomuch, thankyouverymuch.

I love good food prepared well and presented pleasingly to the eye, but feel no need to be pretentious about food and dining.
I learn about great food, great dining and table manners (in other words, haute cuisine) when I went to live in Europe for a few years. Now when I dine with my family and observe their crude table manners and relationship to food, I cannot believe that I was once a heathen at the dining table, too! lol

Every Saturday night with my father. We go to the local family-style Italian diner.
Btw, tonight it is his turn to buy dinner

QUOTE (burgeranacoke @ May 12 2011, 03:17 PM) Well certainly none of those options....
Fully cooked oatmeal does not need to be mushy, if it is you are doing it wrong.
fully cooked oatmeal should have a lot of body, no matter what kind of oats you are cooking, never, NEVER, put them in cold water, you have to boil the water first.
My favorite recipe:
1
Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Add oats to butter and stir for 2 minutes, until lightly toasted.
2
Carefully add 3 cups boiling water to oats in saucepan. Stir and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer gently for 25 minutes, stirring once or twice.
3
Stir 1 cup milk into oatmeal. Continue to cook for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until most of the milk has been absorbed. Stir once or twice during this time to make sure oatmeal is not sticking to the bottom of the pot.
4
Remove oatmeal from heat. Cover and let stand for 2 minutes.I like mine like burgeranacoke makes it!

Nearly every morning,
Muesli
or
Granola
Sometimes,
Cheerios
Shredded Wheat
Puffed Rice
With the exception of Granola, never sweetened cereal for me. With Cheerios, I will add sliced banana, strawberry or some other fruit for sweetness from time to time, though.

QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Apr 10 2011, 09:00 PM) Well logically speaking, I don't think that considering the content of the link that was posted the words "hot boys" in the title was appropriate seeing as there were no before and after photos of hot boys. More to my point. As I see it, the post is just another illustration as to what a certain segment of society deems as the 'acceptable' physical image of a woman. And, to refer women as 'girls' is also an a bit of a put down, in my very personal opinion. But, that is my '70's feminist upbringing shining through, I suppose.
Am I truly missing the meaning and intent of the post and link? I certainly do not interpret it to be about the dangers of eating junk food as it seems to be directed at a certain segment of the audience.

QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Apr 10 2011, 03:20 PM) QUOTE (summer_sky @ Apr 10 2011, 11:51 AM) Are you telling me that I am no longer 'hot' because I do not weight 110 pounds anymore???
You presumptuous, superficial twitUh....excuse me?
I don't recall saying ANYTHING to you.
oh, well ,excuuuuuse me... I thought you called out to the attention of all 'hot girls' (which, btw, I have more than once been described during my lifetime, therefore, answering you call out) and then proceeded to make some sort of statement about weight gain as having an importance in defining a woman's (or are you really into 'girls'?) status in society.
So, what is the real point of your post? hmmmm?

Ancient Ways, I truly mean what I say. I'm sorry for TS's disappointment in the delay of release for an item he anticipated as a time-relevant gift and Christmas has, indeed, been bastardized by commercialism and has been morphed into something that has departed from it's original meaning.
For example, some retail stores in my area have had Christmas-themed junk on their shelves for a few weeks, now. Why? Because Christmas's meaning has changed dramatically for a major portion of society (in the USA, at least).
