Based on the novel by Steve Alten, "Meg" centers on Jonas Taylor, a retired Navy Submersible Diver, who after a tragic accident in the Mariana Trench the deepest part of the ocean some 35,000 feet below the ocean surface.

The film is being produced by Guillermo Del Toro, Lloyd Levin, Nick Nunziata, Larry Gordon and Ken Atchity. As of right now there is no official writer on the project, but some names have been tossed around.
