limlight81
We're miles away from nowhere And the wind doesn't have a name So call it what you want to call it Still blows down the lane People tell me, I haven't changed at all But I don't feel the same And I bet you've had that feeling too You can't laugh all the time And if the fires burn out there's only fire to blame (Hold back the rain) No time for worry cause we're on the roam again. (Hold back the rain) The clouds all scatter and we ride the outside lane (Hold back the rain) Not on your own so help me please.. hold back the rain So what if the words ain't rhyming Did you think that it's just a game I probably didn't even say that right And I really don't give a damn Okay go off and wander I'm guilty just the same Sometimes you're needed badly So please come back again And if the stars burn out, there's only fire to blame (Hold back the rain) No time for worry cause we're on the roam again. (Hold back the rain) The clouds all scatter and we ride the outside lane (Hold back the rain) Not on your own so help me please.. hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain Hold back the rain
limlight81
I've been now sauntering out and down a path sometime. Come on, it takes me nowhere which I know Faces everywhere pulling grins and signs and things Telling me not there man, it's no go (Don't go there boy) I need a reason (I can't think without one now) Too much learning got to show Call it treason (Maybe catch her don't know how) Too many things too much to know I'll bring my timing in, seagulls gather on the wind. Lady screaming, lady leave me out 'cause sometimes people stare (Sitting down, electric chair) And steaming crowds they gather and they shout Don't know why this evil bothers me (Take another chance boy carry the fight You can take him if you're fast) So why is he trying to follow me? (Didn't I say if you're holdin' on You'd be laughing at the last) How many reasons do they need? (I get along fine with them friends of mine, But you have to make a choice) I might just believe this time (You're singing out of tune, but the beats in time. And it's us who make the noise) I'm talking for free. I can't stop myself, It's a new religion I've something to see, I help myself, It's a new religion Okay my reasoning might be clouded by the sun But someone sees the departmental lie You know this peacetime (jabbing fist in, stabbing knife) Only get one look before you die Gotta take pay from the saints 'n' sinners, in regulation hats 'n scarves 'n things Walking in formation down the lane. They carry their cross make a church bell ring Army majors pull a mean cool truth, they're a-lying in the swimming pool Searching for the undeniable truth, that a man is just a fool
limlight81
I don't remember quite how I met you, wasn't long ago Just get a picture of sun, in your eyes, The waves in your hair Maybe it's something said in a movie or you could've said last night. Just took me out on a limb And I don't really know what I'm doing here. And sometimes I'm caught in a landslide My beat's so in time, can you look at me I'm out of reach, I'll talk if it feels right I've had my last chance on the stairway. Funny it's just like a scene out of Voltaire, twisting out of sight 'Cause when all the curtains are pulled back We'll turn and see the circles we traced? Ain't no game... (oooh) When you're playing with fire It doesn't seem right that we fight So the party runs on all night And sometimes I'm caught in a landslide My beat's so in time can you look at me I'm out of reach I'll talk if it feels right So nervous to say, tell me can't you see If you want I'll fall out forever I can't say no more... babe dance with me And please don't say leave till later I've had my last chance on the stairway. Wonder why... (wonder why oooh) What makes me rise so high Maybe it's something they put in your perfume Or the look in your eyes It could be the atmosphere sinking Oh, I don't even know what you're thinking Don't even know what you're drinking But it keep this heaven alive Last chance on the stairway Last chance on the stairway Last chance on the stairway Last chance on the stairway Last chance on the stairway Last chance on the stairway... limlight81
You saw me standing by the wall, corner of a main street And the lights are flashing on your window sill All alone ain't much fun, so your looking for the thrill And you know just what it takes and where to go Don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after No, don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after Feel the breeze deep on the inside, look you down into the well If you can, you'll see the world in all his fire Take a chance(like all dreamers can't find another way) You don't have to dream it all, just live a day Don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after No, don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after Pretty looking road, I try to hold the rising floods that fill my skin Don't ask me why I'll keep my promise, I'll melt the ice And you wanted to dance so I asked you to dance But fear is in your soul Some people call it a one night stand But we can call it paradise Don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after No don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after Save it 'til the morning after Save it 'til the morning after Save it 'til the morning after Save it 'til the morning after Save a prayer 'til the morning after
limlight81
Out on the tar plains, the glides are moving All looking for a new place to drive You sit beside me so newly charming Sweating dewdrops glisten freshing your side And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind The front of your dress - all shadowy lined And the droning engine throbs in time With your beating heart Way down the lane away, living for another day The aphids swarm up in the drifting haze Swim seagull in the sky towards that hollow western isle My envied lady holds you fast in her gaze Sing Blue Silver And watching lovers part, I feel you smiling What glass splinters lie so deep in your mind To tear out from your eyes, with a thought to stiffen brooding lies And I'll only watch you leave me further behind Sing Blue Silver Sing, Sing.. limlight81
I made a run, I run out yesterday Tried to find my mountain hideaway maybe next year, maybe no go I know you're watching me every minute of the day, yeah I've seen the signs and the looks and pictures That give your game away, yeah There's a dream that strings the road With broken glass for us to hold and I cut so far before I had to say Please, please tell me now Is there something I should know? Is there something I should say? That would make you come my way Do you feel the same 'cos you don't let it show People stare and cross the road from me And jungle drums they all clear the way for me Can you read my mind, can you see in the snow and fiery demons all dance when you walk through that door Don't say you're easy on me, you're about as easy as a nuclear war Please, please tell me now Is there something I should know? Is there something I should say? That would make you come my way Do you feel the same 'cos you don't let it show Please, please tell me now Is there something I should know? Is there something I should say? That would make you come my way Please, please tell me now Is there something I should know? Is there something I should say? That would make you come my way Please, please tell me now Can you see what makes me blow? Can you see how much I die? Every time it passes by Please, please tell me now What it takes to make you show Is there something I should know? Is there something I should say? Lerxster
Well, I woke up Sunday morning With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, So I had one more for dessert. Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes And found my cleanest dirty shirt. Then I washed my face and combed my hair And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day. I'd smoked my mind the night before With cigarettes and songs I'd been picking. But I lit my first and watched a small kid Playing with a can that he was kicking. Then I walked across the street And caught the Sunday smell of someone frying chicken. And Lord, it took me back to something that I'd lost Somewhere, somehow along the way. On a Sunday morning sidewalk, I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. 'Cause there's something in a Sunday That makes a body feel alone. And there's nothing short a' dying That's half as lonesome as the sound Of the sleeping city sidewalk And Sunday morning coming down. In the park I saw a daddy With a laughing little girl that he was swinging. And I stopped beside a Sunday school And listened to the songs they were singing. Then I headed down the street, And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringing, And it echoed through the canyon Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday. On a Sunday morning sidewalk, I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. 'Cause there's something in a Sunday That makes a body feel alone. And there's nothing short a' dying That's half as lonesome as the sound Of the sleeping city sidewalk And Sunday morning coming down.

limlight81
Sing this with me this is "40" I waited patiently for the Lord. He inclined and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit Out of the miry clay. I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song. How long to sing this song? How long to sing this song? How long, how long, how long How long to sing this song? You set my feet upon a rock And made my footsteps firm. Many will see, many will see and hear. I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song How long to sing this song? How long to sing this song? How long to sing this song? How long to sing this song? .
BestIKenster
When they turn the pages of history When these days have passed long ago Will they read of us with sadness For the seeds that we let grow We turned our gaze From the castles in the distance Eyes cast down On the path of least resistance Cities full of hatred Fear and lies Withered hearts And cruel, tormented eyes Scheming demons Dressed in kingly guise Beating down the multitude And scoffing at the wise The hypocrites are slandering The sacred halls of Truth Ancient nobles showering Their bitterness on youth Can't we find The minds that made us strong Can't we learn To feel what's right and wrong Cities full of hatred Fear and lies Withered hearts And cruel, tormented eyes Scheming demons Dressed in kingly guise Beating down the multitude And scoffing at the wise Can't we raise our eyes And make a start Can't we find the minds To lead us closer to the Heart

BestIKenster
Begin the day Wth a friendly voice, A companion, unobtrusive Plays the song that's so elusive And the magic music makes your morning mood. Off on your way Hit the open road, There is magic at your fingers For the Spirit ever lingers, Undemanding contact In your happy solitude. Invisible airwaves Crackle with life Bright antennae bristle With the energy Emotional feedback On a timeless wavelength Bearing a gift beyond price- Almost free... All this machinery Making modern music Can still be open-hearted Not so coldly charted It's really just a question Of your honesty One likes to believe In the freedom of music, But glittering prizes And endless compromises Shatter the illusion Of integrity. "For the words of the profits, Are written on the studio wall, Concert hall - Echoes with the sounds... Of salesmen."
BestIKenster
My uncle has a country place That no one knows about. He says it used to be a farm, Before the Motor Law. And on Sundays I elude the Eyes, And hop the Turbine Freight To far outside the Wire, Where my white-haired uncle waits. Jump to the ground As the Turbo slows to cross the Borderline. Run like the wind, As excitement shivers up and down my spine. Down in his barn, My uncle preserved for me an old machine, For fifty-odd years. To keep it as new has been his dearest dream. I strip away the old debris That hides a shining car. A brilliant red Barchetta From a better, vanished time. I fire up the willing engine, Responding with a roar. Tires spitting gravel, I commit my weekly crime... Wind- In my hair- Shifting and drifting- Mechanical music- Adrenalin surge... Well-weathered leather, Hot metal and oil, The scented country air. Sunlight on chrome, The blur of the landscape, Every nerve aware. Suddenly ahead of me, Across the mountainside, A gleaming alloy air-car Shoots towards me, two lanes wide. I spin around with shrieking tires, To run the deadly race, Go screaming through the valley As another joins the chase. Drive like the wind, Straining the limits of machine and man. Laughing out loud With fear and hope, I've got a desperate plan. At the one-lane bridge I leave the giants stranded at the riverside. Race back to the farm, to dream with my uncle at the fireside. BestIKenster
It's not how fast you can go The force goes into the flow If you pick up the beat You can forget about the heat More than just survival More than just a flash More than just a dotted line More than just a dash It's a test of ultimate will The heartbreak climb uphill Got to pick up the pace If you want to stay in the race More than just blind ambition More than just simple greed More than just a finish line Must feed this burning need - In the long run... From first to last The peak is never passed Something always fires the light That gets in your eyes One moment's high And glory rolls on by Like a streak of lightening That flashes and fades In the summer sky Your meters may overload You can rest at the side of the road You can miss a stride But nobody gets a free ride More than high performance More than just a spark More than just the bottom line Or a lucky shot in the dark - In the long run... You can do a lot in a lifetime If you don't burn out too fast You can make the most of the distance First you need endurance - First you've got to last... BestIKenster
A hot and windy August afternoon Has the trees in constant motion With a flash of silver leaves As they're rocking in the breeze The boy lies in the grass with one blade Stuck between his teeth A vague sensation quickens In his young and restless heart And a bright and nameless vision Has him longing to depart You move me - You move me - With your buildings and your eyes Autumn woods and winter skies You move me - You move me - Open sea and city lights Busy streets and dizzy heights You call me - You call me - The fawn-eyed girl with sun-browned legs Dances on the edge of his dream And her voice rings in his ears Like the music of the spheres The boy lies in the grass, unmoving Staring at the sky His mother starts to call him As a hawk goes soaring by The boy pulls down his baseball cap And covers up his eyes Too many hands on my time Too many feelings - Too many things on my mind When I leave I don't know What I'm hoping to find When I leave I don't know What I'm leaving behind...
