CygnusX-1Bk2 Posted October 7, 2007 Share Posted October 7, 2007 It should be standard sized, HOWEVER, I replaced a pickguard on my white J and when I got it in the mail the cutout for the pickup was too small for the pickup in my bass. The bass is Mexican and the pickguard was made in USA for an active pickup model (at least that's what the Musician's Friend ad said). Anyway I had to take a dremel tool to expand the cutout to fit around my pickup. It was a fairly minor operation. Once in place it looks fine. Just be aware of the potential for slight differences. Also make sure the screw patterns are consistent from the new guard to your bass. The screwholes on my Geddy are laid out slightly differently from the white J.
