AdrenalineRush
Has anybody seen this? Personally, I love this movie. It's definitely in my top 10.
Celine
Yup, this was my first venture into foreign film...but certainly not my last. Anyone totally turned off by the idea of having to read subtitles should give this one a shot anyway. Is amazing how quickly you don't even notice you're reading subtitles at all. And this movie is definitely worth the effort. Thanks for bringing it up. Think I will have to bump it up on my Netflix queue and watch it again. It is an incredible movie. Cel p.s. another good foreign film I've recently watched is Tsotsi. This is another very moving movie, although without the light-heartedness of Life is Beautiful. Anyone else out there have an opinion on this one?
AdrenalineRush
I watched it for the first time in my English class last year, and the English dubbing ruined the effect of the movie IMO. Then I saw it with subtitles and found a new appreciation for it. Also, many people criticize this movie for trivializing the Holocaust as a "game". But it is rather a movie of hope and optimism in the face of danger. I have never seen Tsotsi, I will have to check it out.
