nebbish
I have both albums and to be honest I'm not impressed. It just shows how hard Rush work and what great musicians they are as tribute bands and tribute albums,IMO, just don't have 'it'. I feel there's always something missing. Nothing like the real thing
treeduck
QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Aug 28 2006, 07:21 AM) I'm in favor of the "classical" Rush tribute albums - the "string quartet" tribute Exit Stage Right, and the "baroque" tribute. Why am I in favor of them? Say your parents, in-laws, or grandparents are visiting. What do you play on the stereo? With these two albums, you get a small Rush fix without blowing grandma out of her seat with the originals. And Moving Pictures isn't a good choice for that quiet dinner party you're hosting, but Exit Stage Right is. No opinion on Working Man and Red Star, but I haven't heard good things. I can see how you might like this but personally if I want to listen to classical music I'd prefer something by Debussy or Bach or a film soundtrack by Bernard Herrmann rather than Rush songs given a classical make over...
