It should be noted that Beach Boys' Party! was a major production marvel for its time. Brian Wilson worked meticulously to weave dozens if not hundreds of different audio tracks together to give the false impression that the record was a home recording of an impromptu acoustic jam session with the Beach Boys and their girlfriends. This impromptu jam never happened, every part was recorded separately in the studio, but you would never know it listening to the record. Anyway Santana wins both counts for me.
