  1. Elo Kiddies! Which of the albums released in the 1970s by Rockford's finest is your favourite? I have to go with Heaven Tonight.
  2. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Happy 80th. Birthday Tom Jones! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
  3. Boo! Greetings Net Boys and Net Girls!!! Here it is, a most deserving thread exploring the 1978 classic. After all these years, it is still one of my all time favourites. What are your thoughts, your memories of first seeing it, etc.? (This thread is dedicated to The Earl of Rush)
  4. Happy Eighth Anniversary Blue J! http://youtu.be/Coz0TmK2ZIg
  5. Sad news... https://ultimateclassicrock.com/bob-kulick-dead/
  6. http://img.wennermedia.com/article-leads-horizontal/rs-199391-GettyImages-85850260.jpg Happy Birthday Bob Dylan 79 years young today! "Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now..."
  7. Greetings Net Boys and Net Girls, This is a topic that I think about from time to time. This thread was inspired by Blueschica's post in Entre's "Playlists..." thread. She said, "I'm just still wedded to the experience of listening to an album and holding the physical cover while you listen, reading the details and enjoying the art work at the same time." I literally have been collecting music for 50 years now and could not agree with Blueschica more. In the days before the internet, you got all of your information about the band and the music from the album covers and sleeves, as well as from music magazines such as Circus, Cream, Hit Parader, Rolling Stone, etc. What does the band look like now, who played what, who produced, who did they thank, where was it recorded, the lyrics and graphics... ...the album cover set the tone for all of that and grabbed your attention even before the shrink wrap came off. So, put your thinking caps on and tell me, what are some of your favourite album covers and why? (This thread is dedicated to Bluechica, one of TRF's finest members)
  8. Here we go again Net Boys and Net Girls! Inspired by a post in the Halloween 1978 thread... Name Your Favourite Horror Flicks Of All Time. I confess that I have to give this one a little thought myself. Put your creepy little thinking caps on and have a go at it! ~TC3 (This thread is dedicated to the Duck of Manchester)
  9. http://www.musiclipse.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/the-who-live-wallpaper-620x350.jpg Greetings Net Boys and Net Girls! Rank The Who's studio albums in the order of your personal favourite. Here is my list... 1: Quadrophenia (1973) 2: Who's Next (1971) 3: Tommy (1969) 4: It's Hard (1982) 5: Who Are You (1978) 6: My Generation (1965) 7: Face Dances (1981) 8: A Quick One (1966) 9: The Who Sell Out (1967) 10: The Who By Numbers (1975) 11: WHO (2019) 12: Endless Wire (2006)
  10. Greetings Net Boys and Net Girls Bob Dylan recently released a new song entitled, "Murder Most Foul". The song has just reached number one on the Billboard charts, making it his first number one single. The song clocks in at just under 17 minutes long and is about the assassination of John F Kennedy. He released a statement on the day of the release that read... "Greetings to my fans and followers with gratitude for all your support and loyalty across the years. This is an unreleased song we recorded a while back that you might find interesting. Stay safe, stay observant and may God be with you." -Bob Dylan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NbQkyvbw18
  11. OK, Net Boys and Net Girls, , Go ahead, make my day and name your favourite Dirty Harry movie. I'm sticking with the original 1971 release...
  12. Ok Net Boys and Net Girls, It’s clash of the titans time! You decide...two of my favourite songs of all time. (seriously). http://youtu.be/cu3SZvYV3Ho Let the slug fest begin! -TC3 (This poll is dedicated to Texas King)
  13. Bob Dylan just dropped another song entitled, “I Contain Multitudes”. This and the last song he released, “Murder Most Foul” has me eagerly looking forward to a new Dylan album.
  14. Good evening Net Boys and Net Girls! Here's a great new song from Mike Campbell's band, The Dirty Knobs, entitled "Wreckless Abandon". Mike, as many of you know is a member of Tom Petty's band, The Heartbreakers. The Dirty Knobs are a side project that Mike has been involved with for years now. The song literally gave me goosebumps... ...give it a listen and you'll know why. The album is set to drop on 18 September 2020 Turn this one up and enjoy...
  15. So for me, four or five bands most acutely represent rock music in my mind. These are the bands that come to mind immediately when I think of rock. But which of these bands best represents rock music to you, and why? Also feel free to choose a different band and post about them instead!
  16. Happy 42nd Birthday to Rush's best, brightest, and most metal album! Can't we find the minds to lead us Closer to the heart?
  17. While Mooney and Moby Dick (Bonham that is) had the drumming profession up in a frenzy, Ringo and Charlie sat back and played some of the most enduring songs ever written. (No slight against The Who and Led Zeppelin) Who's better? Who do you prefer?
  18. 40 years ago today The Cars released their debut album. An album for me, like many others here, was a milestone of sorts in my love for all things rock and roll. Fresh, original, unique...are there enough adjectives that I could type that would still fall short of how great this album is? Dare I say, one of the best debuts by any band anywhere and at anytime. Happy Cars Day my TRF brothers and sisters.
  19. 1. Hot Space - Queen I'll get the one out of the way that y'all expect me to put up here.
  20. Happy Fourth Anniversary Laurabw!!! http://bravewords.com/medias-static/images/news/2017/595FF986-styx-celebrate-40th-anniversary-of-the-grand-illusion-with-new-vinyl-bundle-image.jpg
