  1. Did you know Eddie Van Halen was considering Daryl Hall to replace David Lee Roth for a short time?
  2. DEEP PURPLE will release its new album, "Whoosh!", on June 12 via earMUSIC. The legendary rockers' 21st studio LP was once again helmed by Canadian producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, ALICE COOPER), who also worked on DEEP PURPLE's last two studio albums, 2017's "Infinite" and 2013's "Now What?!" Together they created the most versatile album in their collaboration. DEEP PURPLE "stretched out in all directions" without any limitation, letting their creativity go. "DEEP PURPLE is putting the Deep back into Purple" was the half-joking motto in the studio after the first songs made it clear that Ezrin and PURPLE were on their path to creating an album pushing the boundaries of time, while voicing their resentment about the current situation of the world and addressing all generations. "Whoosh!" will be available as limited CD+DVD mediabook (including the one-hour feature "Roger Glover And Bob Ezrin In Conversation" and, for the first time, the full live performance at Hellfest 2017 as video), 2LP+DVD edition, limited boxset and digital. "We've included everything that made the whole band smile, including Bob Ezrin. We've always enjoyed making music and having the incredible luxury of a loyal audience," said guitarist Steve Morse. 4. Deep Purple release short trailer for 2017 album Infinite The English rock group have announced the title of their 2017 album Infinite, which is set to be released in the early spring. Below is a 30-second teaser trailer revealing the album title and brief footage from the recording studio. Current members who are writing and recording the new music consist of Ian Paice (drums), who is the only member who has continuously been with the band since its inception, Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass), and Steve Morse (guitar). Singer Ian Gillan commented to Antihero magazine about their songwriting process, "Deep Purple was different than any other kind of writing I do with other people. Deep Purple is primarily an instrumental band, and the routine is we book [time] in a studio somewhere, and the [other] guys [in the band] come in at noon. They start jamming and they work 'till six o'clock, take a break at three for a cup of tea and then do that every day." The band entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, after having been eligible for two decades. Deep Purple's first three lineups were inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and the various singers and bassists over the years - Rod Evans, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.
  5. DEEP PURPLE: New Album 15 December 2012, 4:13 AM Eight years after the release of “Rapture Of The Deep”, following many rumours later revealed to be unfounded, Deep Purple, one of the most important and influential British rock bands of all time, have confirmed the release of a new album completely made of new studio material. After various songwriting sessions in Europe, the band recorded and mixed the album in Nashville with producer Bob Ezrin (in his impressive hit record: Pink Floyd's “The Wall”, Alice Cooper and many others). The album is rumoured to be the perfect match from the original spirit of 70s Purple, and a fresh and modern production. Ian Gillan has recently revealed a few working titles of songs that might appear on the album: “Out Of Hands”, “Uncommon Man” and “Hell to Pay”. Deep Purple's record company earMUSIC will reveal details about the new album in real time as soon as they will become available on a dedicated website where all band members will also be able to post and interact with the fans: www.deeppurple2013.com
