I hate Strawberries. They are absolutely disgusting.

 

I feel that way about pears. Love apples, hate pears.

 

I am indifferent to both but I once had a really good pear.

Me Too....oh wait, 'pear' not 'pair' right? Funny story...a lady who I didn't recognize was walking her two dogs down my street. I saw them from a distance and the 2 dogs were tied together on a leash and were basically walking each other. I almost yelled out 'that's quite the pair you have there!'. Then I noticed as she got closer that she was very well endowed. For once, biting my tongue saved me from massive embarrassment.

Pears have a different type of cell in them. They're composed of a brachysclerid "stone cell" which gives them that weird texture. I like them much better cooked than raw, for this reason.

I remember the daze when they wouldn't play unless the field was painted with slippery paint prior to the game :D

Got tickets for two female volleyball games: Italy vs Puerto Rico and USA vs China.

Indoor.

 

The beach volleyball arena is across the road from where we live, so I thought about experiencing another venue. We´ve seen beach volleyball games in the same place, but with a smaller arena.

Is there a statue of Barry Manilow anywhere? :)

That golf couse will be useless once the olympics are over. It's a VERY exclusive sport around these parts, and those who play it have smaller courses closer to the upper class suburbs. They'll NEVER drive that far just to play golf.

That was pretty frickin' amazing! He is from a town not far away so we follow him for fun. He's so laid back and mellow he flies under the radar a lot of the time until he does something like this. Wow!

And, like all golfers do, tonight he's thinking of the one that got away for a 57!

Furyk's always been a favorite of mine. Him getting back to square with that jig at the top of his swing is a thing of beauty. He's the perfect guy to get a 58. The Patron Saint of Grinders.

What do you guys think, especially you Rod, about golf being added?

I love golf, but think this was a stretch. Watching the course get built from nothing, in a place that doesn't really play golf, seems like a tremendous waste of resources to me.

Does anyone think the course will be used after the games? Will that land even be a golf course in 2 years?

Got tickets to Women´s Handball - quarter finals. Will take my dad to see it - I don´t think he was expecting to see anything, and I´m more excited for him than anything!

4-man scramble on Thurs. This is the 6th year, and me and another guy have been 2 of the 4 every year. The one guy that was with us every year couldn't make it, and the guy replacing him blew out his ACL a couple weeks ago. He's going to give it a run with a knee brace, but I'm guessing we're not going to match last year's 65. 64 was our best, 69 was our worst. Winning team is usually 59 or so.

Most importantly, I have my Playlist set. It's a fun outing,so I crank the tunes. This year is 80s movies songs... first dozen:
