I didn't realize until today that their highest charting single was New World Man. I would have guess it was something from Moving Pictures.

What`s the nearest actual band to approach this, in terms of ego clash/musicianship clash/ego clash/current irrelevance?
It wasn`t actually that bad but Gillan and Sabbath still stuns me, but less than were Ozzy to front Purple.
Probably Mike Portnoy and any band he's a part of.

Not anymore. Danny Carey now fills the #1 position.

I watched the entire thing live and I can honestly say that out of the 6 hours or whatever it was, there wasn't one bad performance or one I didn't enjoy.
Even Ke$ha? She looked to me like she was very high and she didn't fit the tone of the other performers, imo.

I've never been a fan of sparkling whatevers and I suspect the White Claw era will be looked upon as wine coolers are now. Great for frat boys and sorority girls who wake up with someone they don't know nor what they did.

Reading that Sarah Palin lost the election she was in.
This could also be in the :"What made you laugh" thread, but it fits here too.
Moments after conceding defeat, Palin said she would remain in Alaska to watch Mikhail Gorbachev’s funeral.

He was a great quarterback and had a Super Bowl ring to show for it. He was 87.

Florida is making teacher's jobs much more difficult and these laws cause confusion and distrust. Ironic how the party of freedom wants to censor books.
They also decided to remove the Bible which is absolutely horrifying. How are those children going to learn morals and being kind and peaceful and accepting others of different faiths and beliefs?

The NBA says they're going to retire his number league wide, which is a first for them.

A football analyst named the "Kick Six" game as the most depressing college football loss, but only for Alabama fans. In my 50 some years of watching college football, that was the most exciting and memorable finish I've ever seen. The topper on the whole thing was Satan Saban jumped up and down and got belligerent so they'd put time back on the clock to have the chance to kick a field goal, and it bit him, but hard. They ended up losing to the Sooners in whatever bowl game which, as a long time Sooner fan, ended the season in sublime fashion.

Seems Alex Jones' lawyer accidentally sent all of his text messages to the lawyer(s) for the Sandy Hook families and they proved he perjured himself. Someone Tweeted this which both made my day and made me laugh.
QuoteAlex Jones’ cell phone is everything Republicans dreamed Hunter Biden’s laptop would be.

I drove to Illinois and bought the winning ticket yesterday, but a bunch of dirty Bear fans mugged me!
As long as they didn't try to get you eat that casserole they call "pizza", you got away easy.

Reading that Texas will now be known as "Howdy" Arabia for many people, especially those that are much more reasonable than their governor and attorney general.

In 1989, Smith sang the national anthem before a game against the Giants , Our deepest condolences to his wife, Cheryl, daughters Taylor and Shannyn, and son Dwight Jr.”
The team that beat them in the playoffs. Between him and Jerome Walton, the NL Rookie of The Year could have gone to either of them. In fact, Smith had more RBIs, home runs, and higher batting average than Walton with 132 fewer at bats.

Pretty accurate, imo.
QuoteToday in 1997, Greg Maddux tosses a 76-pitch complete game. I believe this is also known as "4 innings" to most current starting pitchers.

There's a not so fine line between optimism and delusion, and I think the new Vanderbilt coach has crossed it, and bigly.
Quote“We know in time Vanderbilt will be the best football program in the country,” Lea said, according to college football insider Brett McMurphy.
Keep in mind, Vanderbilt has more losing seasons than winning seasons in its program history, has only even appeared in a bowl game seven times ever, and has had a winning season in the SEC just three times in the past 70 years.

Had plans to see them with Armored Saint and Grim Reaper a long time ago but ended up staying home and playing Trivial Pursuit with friends and family. Should have gone to the concert.
