  1. I'm curious, did you just join to make a post in reference to 1 member here saying that he heard CP had jerks on board?

I came over as Good Will Ambassador.

The kind who scowls at you and maybe flings poo (potentially his own) at the side of your house.

I have a pressure washer so it shouldn't be an issue. Aim for the wasp nests please.

That won't help. If the queen survives, they'll just rebuild.

    Says the resident exterminator.

Have you seen his shit? Might be some heavy duty

    Actually, yes I have!

Was it on the end of your...nevermind.

  2. I haven't posted on Counterparts in several years. My time here at TRF has diminished somewhat because I'm Facebook friends with many members and end up talking it up over there. Through no fault of any board moderators or owners, I think forums in general are on the decline or becoming outdated. Several Rush fan groups are available through Facebook. I still keep in touch with members (or exmembers) of Counterparts that I knew or met from back then.

John Bobbitt had an exmember for a while.

  3. Tis

Why on earth are you seemingly promoting a nazi?

Does having a picture of an important historical figure = promotion?

What if it was a picture of Ed Gein? What about Bush, Jr? Maybe Ted Nugent? Possibly even Marion Barry? How about Robert Mapplethorpe? Potentially Pol Pot? I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. If not, oh well.

  4. I had never heard of any other sites until I got on here and people starting talking about another forum called Counterparts.

From what I've heard, the CP forum is full of assholes. Never ventured over there to check, because like others have mentioned it's much easier to stick to one.

Also, the important reason: TRF has YBG.

So because the moderation at Counterparts is very light, that means it's full of assholes? I'd heard that TRF was nothing but fawning fan boys and women that want to be lewd and lascivious with Geddy but after checking things out, I found out that's not the case (mostly). Nothing like relying on hearsay to form an opinion.

    :sigh:

This is what I heard. I didn't say I agree with it. Because it'd be awfully uneducated to without actually entering the site. If I offended you, then you have my apologies. I'm not one known for wordsmithing.

Didn't offend me but my last point still stands. But now that you've heard nothing but bad about CP, it would be hard to find out on your own because you've been influenced by those that think it's nothing but assholes. Don't get me wrong, there are a few of those, but so does this place.

As for wordsmithing, I gots alll my book learnin up to the community kawlege so I can whip up some prose that'll leave you wipin yer nose. (I have no idea what that means). :smoke:

  6. Funny story and one that you guys will probably use against me later. :)

When I was in my 20's I complained from time to time about having small boobs (which actually I now appreciate). A friend of my sister's was a gifted painter, and one of his specialties was creating "super hero" cartoon character paintings of his friends; he'd incorporate aspects of their personalities and the finished product really did look like the actual person.

Patrick ended up doing one of me. He gave me giant, lethal weapon boobs that shot laser beams! My cartoon name? "Mam O' War"!!! Loved it.

My ex-mother-in-law had a quite ample rack. Her daughter, my ex-wife, prayed as a kid that she wouldn't have big books. She was a small b-cup. Moral, God answers prayer, dickhead.

  7. An quick homage to the first woman in television I can remember (my then adolescent self) being infatuated with for at least two reasons......

If you haven't already, you should watch The Fog. It's quite a lame movie but there is a scene with her and a wet t-shirt one won't soon forget.

  8. I'm not a musician and I think my appreciation is better than someone who plays one of the four instruments most used by Rush. I am free to enjoy all of the music and likely won't notice a flub unless it's very obvious whereas a guitarist probably would notice if Alex missed a note. Some people are so wrapped up in that kind of thing that even the smallest glitch can ruin an otherwise great concert or record. Sucks to be them.

I don't need to know that a certain thing played is very difficult to heighten my enjoyment because I'm not listening with a technical ear. I'm only here for the show.

  9. BTW, each of us are the ONLY people responsible for our feelings/emotions. I'm a little heavy myself but I'm also able to handle it if someone mentions it. No one can shame me for anything unless I allow them to.

If you're fat, you're fat. Do something about it or learn to deal with the comments. As adults, I suspect those comments are pretty rare. Most of the "shaming" (not of the true) take place in jr high or high school when brains haven't fully developed and idiots don't have as much concern for those on the fringes and those on the fringes often don't yet have the capacity to deal with rude comments.

So if you make someone feel terrible about themselves that's their own responsibility? :eh:

If someone speaks with the intent of upsetting someone, part of that is on them. If someone is just talking and says something that offends a listener, that is 100% on the listener. I just finished a book written by Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) and he says he knows he's fat and is okay with that. If more people would just admit it, and move on, whatever their malady, they'd be better off, imo (as well as mental health professional's opinion).

this made me laugh so much I thought I was gonna flood the bed!

Why doesn't a mod get rid of this one, eh? It's way more revealing and disgusting to boot. Double standard.

Why is it disgusting? Do overweight people offend you?

Not if they keep their clothes on and behave normally. I don't want to see some skinny guy doing that either. But if topless or even bathing suit attired women can't be shown for some prudish reason, why is that allowed?

Well, context. I don't think that anybody is getting a hard-on or a lady-boner looking at this, it's humorous and for laughs. Overweight people do not need to "keep their clothes on and behave normally."

    Wow.

Do you have an issue with chubby girls in two piece swimsuits as well?

Depends on the level of chubbiness. Since it seems we can't post bikini clad women, it would be difficult to show examples but I certainly don't mind a woman that is considered full figured. But a woman that size of that guy^^^^^^, shouldn't be wearing a bikini any more than he should be wearing a speedo.

Who says he's wearing a speedo? We can't see enough of him to tell if he's wearing anything.

No one said he was wearing a speedo. Someone was saying that people of his size shouldn't be wearing a speedo or he might get "fat shamed" THE HORROR!
