I found this doozie about Pierre the square

    To:  TSN
We the people of Canada demand higher standards for the colour commentary of our national sport. Pierre McGuire has raised the ire of Canadians across the country. We recognize that Pierre McGuire continuously speaks about the game of hockey as though he were the chap who first came upon a frozen mottle of cow business and decided to whack it around with some wood. Sure, we can all put aside his regal 93-94 season in which he took the helm as interim coach of the Carolina Hurriances. In that season he shone his glorious omnipotent beam of hockey knowledge upon the dark skies of the carolina tarfields, leading them to a 23-37-7 rcord. While he may always be able to hold this accomplishment over the head of anyone who questions his rink prowess, it does not stop us the people from standing up to this little man. His constant browbeating analysis of the minutiae of every mistake during every second of the entire game amounts to nothing more than an auditory garbagecan. Furthermore, the constant repeating of the same points over and over ad nauseum, have left many of us nauseous before the end of the 1st.
We wish to ask Pierre McGuire to reaize that his falsely inflated hockey ego has reached epic proportions and that he must step down in order to keep the integrity in the game.

    Sincerely,

    The Undersigned

Pierre is the NHL's answer to John Madden. They are one in the same: a Captain Obvious who pays attention to ONE stat per game. Rehashing it through all 120+ minutes of the broadcast.

I still think the Hawks are going to the CUP!!!!!!

They already are in the Cup.....the question is will they win it....I hope so.

I won't be able to take another year with a team from PA with a title.

goodpost.gif You win, good sir. goodpost.gif

I still said that Philly would win one. Chicago's gonna win the Cup on Home Ice and will be the first to do so in three years. I don't enjoy seeing the away teams win the cup.

Winning championships away is kind of a bummer, eh?

Nice sig, but lose that stinkin' Mets logo brother... laugh.gif biggrin.gif z7shysterical.gif

Oi...don't bag on my Mets! laugh.gif Sure, we're not great...but look at the teams I support >.<

  5. I still say they should play HSBC Arena again, if they're going to play the actual Buffalo area. It's a great venue, quite a good number of seats (18, 690...probably closer to 18,800 for concerts). I was at the Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John/Billy Joel concerts when they were here. The acoustics are amazing, and it's not like there's bad seats either.

Prime Mover. We all know Geddy doesn't like to be stuck behind his keys, and it's one of the few songs from that era where he's not behind them at all. Anybody else remember seeing Prime Mover on A Show of Hands?

Yeah I remember Prime Mover live....meh. Great studio song but I thought it was flat live...real flat.

Turn the Page cooked live...but he was stuck behind the keys....but what a challenging superb jam that tune is.

Of all the HYF tunes played live 3 really stood out:

    Force 10

    Mission

    Turn the Page

I'd say that Lock and Key stood out as well. Geddy managed to really convey the emotion behind the song when he sang it live.

    Where!!

She lives in Buffalo. That's hilda's home show.

    Oooooooooooo

It's mine as well, folks. I'd love to have my first 2.gif show be right in my backyard...though I'd much rather see them play The Arena. They haven't set foot in there since T4E.

Well it's official, guys. Bettman's still sucking Crosby's nads. The 2011 Winter Classic will see the most overrated rivalry this side of the Lockout at the center of attention again. It's Crosby versus Ovechkin at Heinz Field in Shittsburgh.

Oh, and Calgary's gonna host Montreal in February...but that doesn't matter, really...

EDIT: Oh, wait...I'm sorry. The 2011 BRIDGESTONE Winter Classic.

I swear, every year it gets worse. This whole thing's just a money machine for Bettman...

Oh enough of the Crosby/Bettman conspiracy... you just wish you had Crosby on your team. Errr... on whatever team is yours this week anyway.

Actually, I never want him putting on a Sabres jersey. It would be an insult to me.

  11. I disappeared after the first, didn't even catch the score until I caught the Mets beating the Yankees at a friend's house. Congrats on the sweep, guys. I didn't really think it would happen until you took a 2-0 lead leaving San Jose. If it's Philly you face, I'll be behind you 100%.

But if Montreal claims the Eastern Title...well, need I say more?

    I'll be 50-50 laugh.gif

And so today we witness the end of the San Jose Sharks as they get swept right out of the United Center.

    RIP San Jose

facepalm.gif Damn, now I'm sure we're going back to San Jose. facepalm.gif

Aww come on Hawk. I was hoping you'd get a kick out of that little eulogy. You should also be happy that I'm actually rooting for them.

O eyesre4.gif K. Thank you for rooting for the Hawks. Btw, what do you have against the Sharks?

Far too many of my friends root for them. None of them care that if Chicago wins then we'll actually have the Cup here in Buffalo for a few days. As I've said: Patrick Kane lives about a five minute walk from my house. He grew up here in South Buffalo, so it would actually be here in the city, not in one of our suburbs like in the past.

Somehow I never felt that way when Chelios won it with the Wings. no.gif

I think it's because Chicago and Detroit are in the same division. Buffalo and Chicago aren't even in the same CONFERENCE, so I think it's a bit easier for us.

    What if Montreal beats Philadelphia?

Then I'll be happy either way.
