I gave my time to return to mourn & pay my respects for Neil w/y'all, but now it's time for me to go & finally move on. For real this time.

Right. Even though I’m now recovered from whatever it is that made me sick, I don’t leave my room unless I need to get food from the kitchen, use the bathroom, or do menial household errands (take out the trash, laundry, dishes, etc.) and when I do, I don’t do it unless I’m the only one outside my room. When I go to the backyard just for fresh air for 5 minutes or so, I’m usually the only out in the backyard. I do it 2-3 times a day when there’s an opening and so I don’t succumb to cabin fever.

wouldn't it be nice if you were actually allowed to go outside again once you've had and recovered from the disease

I go out my backyard at least one or twice a day just for fresh air. But yeah, I’d like to go and do the very few things I do outside my house. On the other hand, my creativity’s finally permeating (not much, just some bits of riffs, ideas, scrambled lyrics, etc.) & I’ve given my bass more love than I had for the past 7-8 years and it’s all thanks to the pandemic.

Uh...I’ve been doing better since the last TOST. Twitch just chatting w/this streamer I’ve recently followed w/wholesome vibes on Friday night & watching Drowse’s FB live stream performance last night helped a lot as far as me feeling emotionally/mentally better.

 

As far as my health, it’s getting better and the coughing is slowly withering away. Sis is doing better too to the point she’s seems to be going about her usual hobbies & things while maintaining social distancing.

F**k it, I’m just gonna say it. I probably have Covid-19. Been sick-ish for about 3 weeks now. Don’t have a fever but the first week I felt perpetually nauseous which has since been gone however I still have this cough that never fully went away but it’s been getting slowly weaker.

i feel so f***ed up i hope i can calm down within the next several days

I had an insomnia related anxiety attack Wednesday night into early Thursday morning myself before it crashed me to sleep. Then I woke up later that day w/only a vague memory of having it but no recollection as to why I had it.

 

I think I need to calm down myself...

honestly on the edge of my seat to hear the vox

im going to try to fall asleep early so i can wake up early and do a quick rough mix before work (that is, if they are in the mailbox tomorrow)

 

no rush either way, im just gonna try and get a good night's sleep.

 

also i sent you the latest and probably final draft of the instrumental so if you're planning on doing a mix yourself (you should really just send the raws) then you're gonna wanna use that one

The files I sent you are the raws. What I did was edited & mixed the vocals playing along to the instrumental mix but removed that track when bouncing the files onto the disk so that they’re the raw vocal takes.

SHIT. Don’t listen to the “Virgin” take cause I forgot to remove the instrumental on that one. Sending you the corrected version now.

And on the complete opposite end, I’m re-vibing w/this song very hard. Probably the earliest “experimental” music memory I had was listening to this song when I was 5 or 6.

 

Love the bass groove on this. In a post-DEG era, this is the kinda J-rock/metal that vibes w/me.

I’m usually a no stage dive person but if there’s a band I think warrants it & if there’s people doing it then I’m inclined to do it. Those two Pig Destroyer shows definitely felt right to do it...and I REALLY wanted to do it for Blood Incantation cause they did two whole albums and it f***ing lit everyone on fire but the Anti-Valentine’s Day crowd (me & friend went by ourselves as singles lol) wasn’t feeling it so it didn’t happen.

I stage dove to two straight nights of Pig Destroyer once (that was the 3rd & 4th time I ever done it I think)...I think I was the one who got killed. Have a now distressed & ripped on one leg jeans to prove it, haha.

Actually never mind. Drinking plenty of water is the antidote I found out.

do you guys think the covid spread and deaths are going to get better or worse? some people ive talked to think the numbers have peaked, others think that this is just the beginning. also know some conspiracy theorists who are saying this is just a population control test.

I'm betting that things will start to improve, and then restrictions for many places will be let out to soon, leading to a second wave. Trump seems way too eager to get things back on track.

As far as the East Coast, I think it’s gonna get worse & I think I’ll remain unemployed for at least another month or two.

Only good thing this social distancing has done is made me finally make progress with my bass playing prowess, coming up w/musical and artistic ideas to pursue & catching up on stuff I wanted to watch and/or read.

I’m just feeling defeatist after working so hard for 3 years to better myself mentally/emotionally, and finally finding a place while not the highest paying job is/was something I genuinely liked doing/being at.

I’m asking myself “Will I return to my place of employment?” once things unfurl. All programs are postponed/cancelled well into mid-May at the moment but I’m already conceding things are just gonna get worse in April.

 

Office staff’s suggest we file for full unemployment, which I was considering doing anyway.

Yeah I’m fine lol but it’s debatable whether I’ve been sick for the past 10 days or so due to Covid or a REALLY bad case of seasonal sinus allergies (I’m gonna say it’s the latter). I just happened to have taken 2-3 days “off” for various reasons one of which being that I somehow gotten magically better by 60% from copious amounts of medicine & cough drops.

I did listen to those demos and I’m still trying to figure out how I’m gonna attack the vocals on it...but also I’ve had an inclination to double track the bassline.

Yeah sure. It just sucks that I’m gonna have to record my vox without a decent mic/XLR mic but I’ll give it a shot.
