Love this album to death, and the choice was incredibly difficult. Ultimately, I went with Test for Echo. In my opinion it is the last great Rush song (though Far Cry comes awfully close). Though sometimes I find that I enjoy The Color of Right and Virtuality a lot more, TFE just has an atmosphere to it that translates incredibly well live. The song is also not too high on Geddy's register, so a lot shouldn't need to be done to make it playable.

Just tried playing it...kind of sounds like the verses of "Show Don't Tell" but I could definitely be way off.

The synth at the end of "Animate."
Of course, the synth solo after the chorus' in "Subdivisions."
The odd-time jam after the synth solo in "Countdown."
The bass in "The Big Money," not a "moment," but pure perfection.
The synth breakdown in "Middletown Dreams."
Alex's solo at the beginning of "Emotion Detector."
That one giant bass note that kicks in after the crowd noise in "Force Ten."
The bassline between chorus one and verse two of "Prime Mover."
The rap in "Roll the Bones" (I can't be the only one who likes it!)
"On the edge of sleep..." during "Double Agent"...
...Just for starters

Bought 2 VIP tickets the minute they went on sale. However, Ticketmaster screwed up and gave me row 17 tickets (I'm supposed to be guaranteed rows 1-15), possibly screwing me out of front row seats! I am waiting on a call back from them. Other than that, everything went smoothly and I can't wait for my first Rush show!

After careful debate, I'd say "Double Agent." Though "Animate" is my favorite song off the album, it has been overdone, as mentioned. "Cold Fire" is up there too, but I didn't feel the song was done justice on the CP tour.

I think Rush should just stick to Rush songs live.

I would be furious if this became the setlist. I enjoy their 80's material primarily and quite frankly, do not care too much for their 70's material (though there are exceptions of course).
And how on earth did "Far Cry" get into the encore?
-
Okay, so at exactly 11AM EST I jumped onto Livenation/Ticketmaster and purchased 2 VIP Tickets for the 07/05 Chicago show for $325 a piece (pricey I know). When the tickets come up, me, being as punctual as ever, assumed that I would have the one of the first 1-10 rows without a problem. Wrong! Row Q (which would make the seats row 18) is what I end up with and I figure there must be a heck of lot of Rush fans quicker than I. But then thanks to some searching I come to find that not only does is the VIP package supposed to include a seat between rows 1-15, but that non-VIP tickets in the same section will be going for about 1/3 of that. The sole reason I purchased the damn package (and so early at that) was to get the best possible seats (I really don't need all the extra stuff that comes with the package, I figured "VIP" implied the best possible seats). Should I contact TM and figure out what is going on? I am going to be furious to find out that in a few days when general public tickets go on sale, that 1st row seats will be sold at 1/3 of the price for what I paid for 17 rows behind. Was I wrong to assume the best seats would be available?
-
Where is the link to where it mentions this information? I bought two VIP tickets for the Chicago show, but I am in row Q, which would technically put me at row 17, correct?
-
I for one would LOVE to hear the "Fear" tetralogy.
-
I couldn't fit all the post-MP songs I would want in a 3-hour setlist.

Hopefully I posted this in the right forum, I didn't think "requests" were appropriate in the main Rush forum.
In short, I'm just looking to expand my poster collection (to 1 ). Looking around online I can only find a few (S&A, Discography, PeW) none of which have any interest to me. I would like a 24x36 size (or larger) of any poster between the albums Signals through Test For Echo.
Not looking for any rare or super-collectibles (a la "as cheap as possible"). Just any posters you may be willing to part with. PayPal is no problem, so please PM me with any offers/details.
Sorry again if this "request" is inappropriately placed

QUOTE (quickfree @ Feb 8 2010, 04:25 PM) Besides Chain Lightning and Natural Science practically all the time, today its been Limbo. And I'm loving this song. Too bad T4E will never get many songs played live ever again. It is a shame, it's probably the album I've listened to most in the past week (never thought I'd say that)...Right now I've got "The Color of Right" stuck in my head!

Honestly, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. You don't have to play ...
I was just sick of the games that could either hardly be constituted as games (this or that) or are just a google search away (name that lyric). So "narrowing" it down would essential become a google search of the tracklist lyrics.
Obviously it's possible to do since RushLady got it and it's not like this requires response after response. Maybe you're just listening to a song and happen to pick up on it, or it just happens to be one of your favorites that you can easily decipher. No need to be so serious about it.

Simple game, someone will give a lyric from a song, but instead of just typing out the lyric, instead the first letter of each word will be used!
For example "TTSHGHOY" would be "Today's Tom Sawyer he gets high on you." So the answer would be "Tom Sawyer" of course.
This way, it's just as simple as knowing the lyric, but you can't Google the answer
