Love this song. Remember being very disappointed when I didnt get it for my show on the CA tour 2013.

I have never considered signals to be synth era and to me its debateable if gup is either.
Both of those discs whole having more and more keys were real heavy on the reggae influences.
I cant recall any reggae influence post gup at this moment?
Imo the end the reggae era is the begining of the synth years.
I agree with you completely on signals. never classified it as synth era, but rather in the PeW/MP era (which for the record also has those reggae influences you speak of).

in Rush
Rough sound. Rarely watch Rio, as great as the show itself is. -

Lamneth, bc it has more historical significance for me....but Salmacis is absolutely fantastic.

Damn
Yes - Big Generator Sept 17, 1987
Jethro Tull - Crest of a Knave Sept 11, 1987
I loved both those albums when they came out. Great stuff, good memories.

Better than Power Windows (which seems to be very overrated). But not in the top 10 of Rush albums. A nice listen from time to time.

Was at the MSG show:
Distant Early Warning -- this is when they seemed to really kick it in, and the crowd was going nuts.
Losing It - of course.
Cygnus X-1 was simply mind-blowing.
Jacobs Ladder was powerful as hell, and what an awesome laser accompaniment
...that second set was almost overwhelmingly good.

R40, no competition. Actually like the VT tour better than R30.

Was on the floor, 17th row. Astounding. The best Rush show I've ever seen, with the only exception being my first show ever - Signals tour, also at MSG. What a way to close it out.

My first Rush show ever was 1982 MSG, on the floor. Going to be back there next Monday, 33 years later, full circle. No place I'd rather see them. Can not wait!

The overrated Power Windows. Half good, half bad.

They final did losing it. Do u think it was one off
I read on rushisaband.com that they played the song in soundcheck in Montreal today. Which means they could potentialy play it again at somepoint. Your guess is as good as mine as to when that would be.
Interesting news that theyre still soundchecking it... wonder if/hope they play it in NYC next week.

Power Windows, for sure.

The synthetic era as a whole, which includes GuP, Power Windows and HYF, was over-represented.The interview is right now, figured I'd post anything interesting he says, there have been some questions regarding the tour, will update with any new info:
1. Acknowledged that Power Windows/HYF was represented well on the CA tour, there will be none of that this tour (don't recall any HYF songs on last tour)
One song = "represented well"?!?!?
Particularly Power Windows....total overkill.

*Maybe* Bastille Day... more likely some instrumental Necromancer stuck in a medley.

Paul's album, easily. A true classic.

The sound is so good on Counterparts it often "covers" for some very average songs on that album.
The answer overall is Permanent Waves.

The last great Rush album, in my opinion. Love it top to bottom (including red lenses).
