Alrighty, new topic, slightly. How many of you think that butterfly, automatic, or gravity knives should be illegal?

I see no reason why they should be illegal. They just happen to be scary to those unfamiliar with them so that's why people want them outlawed.

Exactly my thoughts, they can't kill you any deader than a steak knife

Watch as this guy is dead serious as he shows you how to make a pack of Ramen noodle soup with eggs in it. At the end written on the bottom it tell you you can order the video for $4.00 or get 2 of them for 6 bucks. wacko.gif

Is this guy for real ? Any 12 year old can make a pack of Ramen noodle soup.

You'd be surprised. My husband didn't know how to toast an Eggo waffle.

He just recently learned how to correctly separate an egg.

Lesson: Moms to young boys... don't do every single little thing for them.

I'll see if he's interested in expanding his cooking techniques.

If something like egg drop ramen gets views, Maybe it's time I made a stir fry video

'Man up, carry a knife'... 'Girlish fear of knives'.

I popped into this subforum as there's a runners thread where me and a few others post about our running. One theme we've written about was what we've seen while running.

Folks from the US: bears and cool nature stuff like that.

Me, from Hackney, London, UK: police tape and blood stains from yet another kid being stabbed. This stuff doesn't even make the local news. The gang rapes at knife point still do though.

Many kids round here have very low aspirations. It's a self fulfilling culture of failure. One way out, or at least a way of being seen as not a failure, is to have street cred. Most often through bullying with knives.

To have stabbed someone is a badge of honour. To have a friend who's been stabbed is also a badge of honour.

Go tell the mothers who, right now, are at home worrying if there son is going to come back alive that theirs is a 'girlish fear'. Their fear is valid. Children are being murdered.

Go tell the parents who are howling with grief for their child dying in a pool of blood that real men carry knives.

Last Christmas my wife sent me looking for for some unsalted butter. There wasn't any in the local supermarket so I walked around a few other shops looking for some. I was back later than she thought I would be. She was in tears fearing I was dead having being stabbed.

A few months back I saw a little kid being roughed up by some older boys. I stopped my bike to tell them to leave him be. In my mind though was the fear they had knives and I would be stabbed. I did stop, I did do something, but was also very aware that I almost didn't because of the knife culture round here. And that would have been another poor little kid beaten up due to the fear of knives.

The grief, sadness and fear knife culture has brought to London permeates us here on many levels.

Are you honestly blaming the knife itself for this? If the knife didn't exist, do you honestly think there wouldn't be something in its place? People suck, but what they carry isn't the criminal.

Neat stuff, Jack! How's the sharpener work?

Click the link and it'll take you to the home page which has a video that demonstrates it.

I saw that, but didn't know how well it worked, as in how long the edge stayed, how sharp the edge actually was, etc.

Oh, I see. Sorry, man. It puts a terrific edge on my knives, you could shave with them. How long the edge lasts depends more on the blade then the sharpener, really.

Cool. Might have to grab one next time i've got some cash.

Is that a switchblade? Those are pretty neat and I've owned a couple through the years. In my state, South Carolina, it's legal to own a switchblade if you only have one arm. I've always thought that was pretty practical.

Nope, stiletto folder. Looks great, well built, especially for the price.

Dear The guy who almost inadvertently killed Ninja-Douche last week as they cut you off,

Evidently, Ninja-Douches are members of the small pee pee parade and have to have a big Tude to make up for it.

    Sincerely,
    One who unfortunately knows some.

Responsible riders have a name for them. The name fits. yes.gif

Yes, but not all of them are on Ninja's.

Actually, we call them Squids. They are the noobs that all want to go fast on a sportbike, and so they all want a Gixxer 1000 or an R1 bike. They are liter sized engines that only super huge people or track hungry fanatics should ride. Bikes capable of flipping you over at 120 mph and landing you in the hospital for 7 weeks. They are the kids that chat your ear off at the gas station asking you "how fast does that thing go?" and "dood, do a wheelie!!!" and "yeah, I have a gixxer (usually said with a soft g) one thousand at home, and I can pop a wheelie in 7th gear, and I beat some guy at the track" and "I bet my Hayabusa (pronounced incorrectly) can beat your Honda R6". Funny thing is, Honda's don't make an R6, and bikes don't come with a 7th gear. laugh.gif

I just nod my head and smile....

I cannot begin to count the number of assholes I see riding these days in shorts and t-shirts. Not a few in sandals as well.

Dude, if it's so hot you can't dress properly to ride, leave the bike at home and drive the car.

These folks have helmets on. So after they crash, they'll have a purty head on a trashed body.

    we call them organ donors

Reminds me of something that happened to my dad. Guy wanted to race, my dad on The Water Buffalo (Shovelhead) and this guy on, you guessed it, a Ninja. My dad was walking away from him in first gear and the guy tried to kick him over. Didn't go so well for him, as when he was leaning over, his sneaker lace got caught, and the bike stood up. Guess what happened next

sad.gif your all warped, these are deadly weapons not trinkets!
if you wanna run around waving knives around join the army and go fight the taliban.
Anybody living in britain reading this thread will be disgusted at the glorification of knives and guns,at one time knife and gun crime in britain was almost unheard of but now its almost epidemic and young people are dying on our streets on a regular basis because everybody wants to be the next rambo. b_sigh.gif

Only a warped idiot would assume that we are all "running around waving knives". If you want to have a girlish pants-pissing fear of knives that's your business, but we really don't want to hear about it. So do us a favor and shut the f*ck up. Thanks and have a great day! biggrin.gif

    Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy! angry.gif  waffen093.gif

How did I forget that one!?

Yeah.... I read all the books multiple times before the movie, and the only thing I could say was "What the hell is this?" Funny movie, but not Hitchhikers by a longshot

I watched HHGTTG, and was duly disappointed, even though I was willing to give it a chance.

Yes it had its moments, but it didn't even measure up well against the BBC TV series, never mind the radio adaption from years ago.

Yeah, it wasn't a bad film if I'm honest. I just get a bit annoyed at some inacurracies and liberty-taking.

My biggest gripe: Arthur and Trillian ending up together.

No! Bad directors! Bad! pokey.gif smash.gif

The reason it didn't match up to the BBC series is because Douglas Adams was involved in that. for instance, Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings, in the BBC show, was actually Douglas Adams in drag. laugh.gif

And Arthur and Trillian were supposed to end up together in a way...

    Not that way though
