  1. At the show, I bought the blue R40 shirt and my GF got the jersey. Cool that they are having a sale!

What is the fabric on the blue shirt like? Is it softer than the black shirts were?

  2. I think the dalmatian shirt is a poly/cotton blend. Different fit than the 100% cotton shirts, but breathes better. I would have been all over the dalmatian shirt if it was 100% cotton, but ... C'est la vie.

It is actually a lot more comfortable than the heavier black cotton shirts are and although it is a blend the fact it's gray it is somewhat cooler to wear in the sun.

  3. I got the black R40 shirt with the seagull at the Buffalo show, and it is probably the most uncomfortable fitting Rush shirt I have. Other than being smaller than normal, it just doesn't fit the same. Seems to be smaller through the chest and waist.

When I felt the fabric on the black shirts and realized I would probably never wear the one I was going to buy because of it I swapped it for a gray Dalmatian one and paid the extra $10 for it.

Hopefully the ones I have ordered, the blue tour shirt and black skull shirts will be just as comfortable.

  4. I just bought four more R40 shirts myself, one for my brother and three for myself. This was after getting two more gray R40 Dalmatian shirts and a replacement Time Machine tourbook.

You just gotta love Geddy, Alex and Neil!

  5. This is the first tour where I've bought the shirt and I didn't like it much afterwards. I've not worn the shirt once. It doesn't fit as well as previous tour shirts and the design is just not as well done. Shirt feels cheaper too.

Which shirt are you referring to?

The one that has the beach and the seagull and the big red R40 at the top.

I almost bought that one as well, but didn't like the feel of it and figured I'd never wear it more than once.

  7. I'd like a second Rush Dalmatian Tour Tee as the one I picket up after the Newark, NJ gig has become my latest favorite shirt.

Hopefully Rush's site will get them back in stock.

Were any still available at the most recent shows?

  8. Okay Rush fans....I need your help!

First Rush show was in 1986. Most recent in 2015. After that 2015 show I have tried - without success - to get an LP autographed by mailing an LP to a venue they are playing at on this tour. I am wanting to know if I am doing anything wrong as I have struck out THREE TIMES.

    I have used these 12" x 18" mailers:

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ixUd-XVZL._SY300_.jpg

I include another one with stamps on it for return postage in the one I mail along with the LP, two 12" x 12" cardboard inserts to protect the LP, and a note thanking the boys and asking for it to be autographed. I have included tracking for all and this is what has happened:

    1. Sent priority USPS package to Detroit w/ my 2112 LP. It arrived Friday before Saturday show. It was sent back on Monday after the show. Received unsigned w/ my note still in it.

    2. After that failure, bought Perm Waves reissue LP (just in case signing dark 2112 LP was an issue) and Sent priority USPS package to New Jersey. It arrived Friday before Saturday show. It was sent back on Monday after the show. Received unsigned (and BENT) w/ my note still in it.

    3. Sent priority USPS package to Utah w/ same Perm Waves LP. It arrived Wednesday before Monday show. It was sent back on Monday night. Received unsigned without my note.

After reading through this and older threads I sent to Detroit because someone last tour had success. Same thing with New Jersey and someone here had success this tour. I emailed Utah recently and they said that they pass on all fanmail to the tour. Someone else here also had success.

I am addressing to Rush R40 Live Tour, c/o Liam Birt, and then the venue address.

Is there anything I am doing wrong? Could the packaging be too big? Packaging too hard to open maybe? If anyone has any advice please let me know.

I am thinking of trying one more time using a USPS Priority mail box and include the LP and a 12"x18" mailer for the return trip. Maybe if it really is hard to open the box might be easier.

I have only tried doing this one time before on the Clockwork Angels tour by sending in a Starman postcard, but never received it back, so I doubt I am in any database if they are tracking who is getting autographs.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Hey Jeff,

If anything, with all the fancy packaging and other precautions you have been taking, from my own experience, and many others I have read of here, it sounds like you have done everything *right*.

Considering all you have done, and have still been unsuccessful, I find my first, and only attempt of this in getting my Signals LP cover signed, even more ironic than ever. But I did get it back, signed.

If there are any other venues who are still accepting and forwarding mail to the band, give it another shot; the law of averages dictates you will be successful eventually, and you should not give up now.

    Roll them bones, baby!

    Peace,

    Jeff

  9. I called KeyArena in Seattle and the rep there told me that they will forward mail to the band.

    She gave me this address:

    KeyArena

    Att. Rush

    305 Harrison St.

    Seattle, WA

    98109

    Thank you very much!

You should modify that address as follows:

    Rush--R40 Tour

    c/o Liam Birt

    KeyArena

    305 Harrison St.

    Seattle, WA

    98109

That's the format most of *us have been using, and the success rate has been pretty good.

  11. Has anyone here tried to get multiple items signed by doing several dates? Or do you feel that's cheating?

I found it ironic, but also very, very cool that the first item I ever sent, a Signals LP cover, was signed by Alex, Geddy and Neil, and despite my return package not being taped shut, was still returned to me in excellent shape.

I would never tempt fate by doing this again, at least on this tour, unless I were doing it as a surprise for someone else.

  12. You might be right, but that's what I thought before my booklet showed up around this many days after the show I sent to. Could be USPS getting sloppy rather than you. That's what happened to me.

Actually considering the sheer number of letters and packages they handle, the USPS is far superior compared to other delivery services, most notably UPS, than anyone else.

While I have been trading, buying and sending packages out in over the past 30 years I can recall less than a half a dozen times, in literally thousands, where a package that was sent to or from me did not make it's way to it's intended destination. As long as your letter or package is a reasionable size, clearly labled and the postage is sufficient you have a far greater chance of getting your stuff back through them than any other mailing or shipping service.

  13. I received my copy of Signals, back from Buffalo and *signed* by Alex, Neil and Geddy!

How can post a photo of it here? I tried using Flickr but that did not work.

  14. Nothing again today. Bummer. :(

Mine hasn't come back yet either ... still, if they sent it back last Thursday, even priority mail can take a day or two longer.

  15. I got mine!!! It's an R40 flat signed to me :7up: by all three of them :Neil: :Alex: :geddy: ! So exciting!

When I mailed it off I sent along a short, handwritten note, so maybe that had something to do with them actually signing it.

You got yours back already? Did you put express postage on it or something?

Did you mail yours to Buffalo or North Carolina?

I thought she said she mailed hers to Buffalo but I could be wrong. I mailed mine there.

    Yes, Buffalo.

Oh, very cool. Hopefully mine is heading back to The Bronx as well. While I did not have time to write a note, I did include a post-it asking that it be personalized to me inside.

  17. By the way, if anyone who sent their item to Buffalo is tracking its return back to you and you see it on its way, let me know. I don't have my return package tracked.

    I don't either. Here's hoping.

I didn't either. I'm going to give it awhile and hope I get an early surprise ??!!

I'm going to assume that they're probably going to end up signing them tomorrow when Neil gets there. Then probably they won't go out until Thursday.

Wow; that was a close one! I thought my package just arriving at 11:00 this morning would be late! Hopefully it will get through with the earlier ones tomorrow as well :-)

  18. Here's the latest on the package I sent to Buffalo as per the USPS:

    June 4, 2015 , 9:50 pm

    Arrived at USPS Facility

    JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097

Your item arrived at our USPS facility in JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097 on June 4, 2015 at 9:50 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

    All RIGHT!!!
