  1. As a Scotsman football ( the non American version - I cannot call it soccer) is my main sporting love followed by golf and Rugby.

I also love spending lazy days watching test match cricket.

I used to love watching boxing but my interest has waned. I was brought up in the days of Ali and Foreman and I think I have been spoilt by the great days of the sport.

American Football, to give it its correct name laugh.gif is good entertainment but I can't get passionate about it.

Get the BBC original on DVD it is far superior to the American version

It's all a matter of taste! yes.gif The US version has its strengths. I happen to think it's the funniest US sitcom in years. rofl3.gif

I like the US version too but I think some of the humour in the original is on a different level even some of the expressions on the characters faces can crack me up.

Pretty Damn good - I ran the Edinburgh 10K Road Race two weeks ago and managed it in 49.12 which i was reasonably pleased about considering it was a very hilly course.

  6. I have a real love hate relationship with Dean Koontz.

I think he is an awful writer and I only read him lying on beaches, however he is a damn good story teller and I can't put his books down when I start.

Well as an 'old git' I started with Sounds in the late 70's, but got bored with it all in the mid 80's and stopped buying music magazines. Then in the early noughties started again with Classic Rock and Mojo. Still buy CR every month, but it isn't as good as it once was, too narrow a focus, and they didn't pick up on the Black Keys until their latest release (Magic Potion) - FOOLS!

Might buy Q occasionally, if I'm struggling for some lighter reading, usually when I'm stuck on a Virgin Train. Always check out Mojo in the newsagents for the interesting album reviews, but rarely part with my english pounds. I'm one of those annoying b****rs that will stand and use the shop as a library.

I'm pleased to say that I have never bought Kerrang, even though I was around when No. 1 went on sale.

I started on Sounds too - happy memories. I actually stopped buying Shoot to get Sounds.

Now I am a Q and Mojo buyer but I also pick up the odd NME at the airport now and then.

Went to my very first concert last night: The Australian Pink Floyd Show.

So, i'll start at my birthday, a month and a bit ago:

My parents had got me tickets to TAPFS for my birthday, and I was very excited.

So, the night of the concert finally came. With my luck, it snowed for the first time this year... and it was bad. Gridlock all over the city. So, we finally made it to the Metro Centre after 2 hours or so of driving. We had to eat, because we had left pretty much just after school. Once we went into the Metro Centre and into our Skybox, i just stared off the ledge at the drumset. Very nice. Looks like something that Nick would play. After a bit of a delay (they wanted to let people get in) the lights suddenly turned off, and everyone yelled. Then, you could hear the opening orchestra-synth line of "Shine of you Crazy Diamond". When everyone started playing, it was magical. Lights everywhere, and the guitar solo's, and the sax solos. After about an hour or so of some awesome Floyd songs (set list below, or atleast what i can remember), there was a 15 minute intermission. Then the lights died again, and the music from "Outside the Wall" started playing. I knew what was next. In The Flesh? scared the crap out of me when they started playing. After another hour, the show was over. And I went home thinking "Now I definitely need to see Rush." I actually thought they werent going to be as good, because they were a tribute band, but, it was actually really good.

    Setlist:
    Shine On You Crazy Diamond
    Time+Breathe Reprise
    Dogs
    (Not in order)
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (to my great surprise. it was also rocked out with a solo)
    Take It Back
The Happiest Days of Our Lives+Another Brick In the Wall
    Learning to Fly
    Brain Damage+Eclipse
    The Gunners Dream
The Great Gig In The Sky (with very good vocals)
Nobody's Home (with reclining chair and lamp)
    One of These Days
    Pigs
    Money
    Us and Them
    Cumfortably Numb
With the Encores: Hey You (Where I thought I heard the "Echoes" pings, which i would have loved to hear) and Run Like Hell

Cool first concert. I had the pleasure of seeing the Australian Pink Floyd earlier on in the year and they were amazing,

Incidentally my first concert was Iron Maiden on their first ever British tour.
