  1. Wow, you bought them! Much too rich for my blood, I'd have gone to about 13K maybe. I'm very glad that they went to a true fan!
  2. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Aug 5 2009, 01:32 AM) QUOTE (Bawoo @ Aug 3 2009, 09:16 PM) As to the concert toms, Neil always used Ludwig silver dots on those, up to the Tama kits where he started using Remo black dots. Not true. He still used Silver Dots on the concert toms with the mahogony Tamas. You might be right about that, but I seem to remember black dots on the Exit Stage Left video (maybe silver still on Permanent waves...?). But in any case they were always dots.

  4. It's clear that this is the real deal, I remember speaking to the MD contest winner (Mark?) back in 1988 or so when he first tried to sell this kit (for a mere $5000!). It matches his description, copper concert toms and all. MainDrag - What are the chances of you making a quick recording of the pitches of the toms before you sell this baby? This is a rare (and perhaps the last) opportunity to make a record of this vital historical information for Peart geeks. Here's a pic of the #2 kit from the giveaway, restored very closely to its original configuration. http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/Bawoo/Peart/cygnus_x-1.jpg
