Last year, members Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee and Neil Peart grossed $24.4 million from the 35 U.S. shows included in Rush's Time Machine tour, which drew more than 347,000 fans and netted the band about $8.2 million. (Rush played its 1981 album "Moving Pictures" in its entirety on the trek.) The Canadian band sold 363,000 albums in 2010; the highest-selling was 2003's "The Spirit of Radio: Greatest Hits (1974-1987)," which moved 59,000 copies. gross 24+ million. what is the net (guess), and whats the net for each artist? Article says net is 8.2 million. of course i could never have a net that gross que?

  3. QUOTE (HigherWater @ Mar 14 2012, 08:40 PM) QUOTE (tel @ Mar 14 2012, 12:39 PM) it wont be the best album ever because for the last 3 albums THE vital ingredient has been missing....M E L O D Y. Rush biggest disapointments...snakes and arrows, test for echo and vapor trails....ALL WITH EXTRA FILLER How can you say that melody is missing from those albums? T4E has some of the most complex melodies that rush has ever put out. In fact it's usually the most melodic stuff that gets blasted on this message board. Nonsense! test for echo is convoluted bollocks and lack of melody is the main reason it blows goat, the last truly melodic rush album was counterparts everything since has been contrived tosh. Having heard bu2b and caravan my expectations are lower than whale shit

  5. g under p sounds like he is simply lamenting the days before the "nanny state" when kids were allowed to play conkers without goggles and skip rope without pads on. The health and safety brigade (certainly here in britain) would have us all walk round in quilted suits in case we trip and somebody gets sued. The compensation culture here is out of control with everyone shitting themselves about ending up in court for farting to loud
  6. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Mar 11 2012, 03:15 PM) I've never heard of this band or song before. But after listening to it I completely understand why it's been forgotten yes, i can see that this is more of a brit thing, Lindisfarne were big news for a while here in the 70s and this song reminds me of a better time.
  7. god i love this song.... http://youtu.be/-mGyOKr8frw

  11. QUOTE (Invisible To Telescopic Eye @ Mar 4 2012, 05:39 PM) I've not been introduced to too much from Rammstein aside from a couple of songs a about 12 years ago, but I have seen a few videos of them live and it looked pretty crazy. On a similar note I saw GWAR about 18 years ago and although the music was crap, the show was hilarious and fun, not to mention perverted and kinda gross. i understand the gwar connection but as well as being visually amazing rammstein are great musicians delivering bone shattering riffage. As previously noted,i realise nobody here is gonna run out and buy up the rammstein catalogue based on my fanboy ramblings but i hate to think of you guys missing out on this band.
  12. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Mar 4 2012, 08:31 PM) Retard metal prog rock?...is this the correct link?
  13. i went to see rammstein on friday and it was simply the greatest rock spectacle ive ever witnessed (and ive seen a lot). ive tried several times in vain to find some love for this band here on trf, believe me this is the greatest show on earth
  14. QUOTE (2112mjh @ Mar 4 2012, 02:15 PM) Loved the 1st Montrose album. I saw them supporting Status Quo in Manchester back in the early days and they were as impressive live as on record. Went straight out and got hold of the Montrose album - it still sound a killer today. R.I.P Ronnie - another sad loss. i was at this show!....75 i believe, went along to see quo, and montrose blew them away

underated? They were massive in the 70s,popular in the 80s and still enjoy a huge following today
  17. Another popular theory is that the earth was bombarded with hundreds or possibly thousands of asteroids which carried micro organisms to earth and that we propogated our fair planet in this way. If this were true ofcourse that would make us aliens ourselves

  20. It sounds a done deal to me As my statement of February 2, 2012 indicated, I have not declined to participate in the Sabbath album and tour. At the earliest opportunity, I am prepared to go to the U.K. and record, and later tour with the band.
  21. The tour aint gonna happen, only one show will now take place and that will be donnington. It is not felt that iommi will be well enough due to his illness, however bill ward has also released a statement saying he IS now happy to tour with sabbath again and WILL be on the forthcoming album.
  22. quote "alex and geddy were great fun but neil made me feel like an ignoramous".....typical
  23. Loved it, a real old fashioned creepy film which does not rely on blood and gore to shock. Great acting by all concerned and a nice twist at the end
