  1. This might sound a bit dickish- but when certain vehicles tailgate me, it makes me madder than others. Huge, souped up pickup trucks that probably have never done a day of work really piss me off because they tend to be driven by the biggest assholes down here. So when they ride my bumper (I stay within 1-2 mph of the speed limit), I brake tap big time. Just something about those ridiculous trucks, especially the diesels that shoot that nasty burned fuel out, that serve no actual function besides penis compensation and deliberately delivering a giant middle finger to the environment that piss me off to no end. And here, they're driven by spoiled college kids at least 75% of the time. Sorry... :rantoff:

  2. Huh... Iggy is a Bruin for real this time. Looks like he's got some bridges to rebuild. I kinda want him to f**k right off, to be honest.

edit: nah, I don't want him to f**k off... we got him!

    edit 2: $6 million? f**k.

  3. f*ckin right, there's a new season coming! Hope to f**k they're going to get most of the old guys back... I guess with Lucy in the military, she's out for f**k's sake. And Phil dead, that's a major f*ckin bummer. Maybe Cory and Trevor will quit being dicks and get the f**k out of the mental hospital and get back to the park. f*ckin right, boys! Gettin drunk as f**k!

  4. I'm really glad Edmonton grabbed Ference. He can go home and play a bigger role, and from a selfish point of view, the Oil is fun to watch, so tuning in to see him should be nice. Still, really sad to see him go. https://twitter.com/Ferknuckle/status/353185421355778048

As for Horton in Columbus... I guess he really did want a quieter life

And the Seguin trade... wow. I get the idea of clearing some cap space, but it seems like Chiarelli gave up on him awful fast. It will be cool to have him be in Dallas just because they'll play a preseason game down in San Antonio against Florida, so that'll be a chance to get up really close to watch him. Not that I'm a 16-year-old girl. It'll be cool to see Loui in the black and gold, too. As for Pevs... good luck finding him, Dallas. He's been under a rock somewhere all year.

  5. I read on twitter today that the Stars are in the mix for Lecavalier.. That'd be an interesting addition. Though the Stars have gotten really young, Nill seems to want to add some older dudes, but not putting all of his eggs in the basket of names like Jagr and Whitney.. That's what it felt like last year.

I won't believe it until the papers are signed (Iggy), but there's this rumbling that Dallas is the top contender. Take it for what it's worth, but apparently this guy is reputable in Detroit:

    http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2013/07/red_wings_ken_holland_will_rea.html

"The Red Wings are out of the bidding for Vincent Lecavalier, who is seeking a five-year deal for $5 million per season, which is a longer term and more money than Detroit is willing to offer. Lecavalier's agent told teams he has identified a club he wants to play for. It's believed to be Dallas."

Don't see Vinny going West, but who knows?

  6. Rush with the Cup...

I'm surprised that it was Carbomb that got the night out with the cup. :eh:

It was neat how they did it. Late in the second set, Geddy announces that Lord Stanley is here. Two guys dressed up like the trolls from the intermission video came out with a big black crate. They opened it and pulled out a 1 foot tall replica of the cup. And while the crowd is still growning, Carcillo walks out with the cup. It was pure mayhem when the real cup got on stage! :haz:

Watching the youtube video of that appearance was exactly what I needed to snap outta the funk after that loss. Leave it to Rush to solve everything again. Good series, heartbreaking end. Wish Geddy would've done the Kaner Shuffle.

  7. I thought it was cool how the crowd was more into the new material compared the first leg of the tour.

It was my daughter's first Rush show, so this one will always be special for me. :)

Her first Rush show came complete with a Cup appearance? Wow, dude. That's almost too much awesome for one night!!!

  8. That Alfred Hitchcock look-a-like probably told his team to aim for Toews' head, knowing his concussion history, and that's exactly what Lucic, Chara and Boychuk did all night long. Justice would be served if Bergeron missed the rest of the series. It amazes me that, in this league, a team that refuses to be a-holes in order to win, has a chance for another cup.

Dude... being mad about the hit is one thing (I gotta disagree there, but that's not for now), but hoping Bergeron is hurt badly enough to miss the rest of of series? That's f*cked, man.

Where did I say I hope he's "hurt badly?" Those are your words.

The way the "justice will be served..." sentence came across, given the Bergy was taken by ambulance to the hospital, gave me that impression. Apologies if that's not what you meant, but that's just how it came across given the circumstances.

I'm not the biggest BTBAM fan, but I may try to catch them in Worcester. I think the theater is only a mile or so away from where I'll be going to college so it would be dumb not to see them (if I have the money, of course).

The Contortionist alone is worth the price of admission... holy f**k they rock. Plus The Faceless? Then BTBAM? Oh hell yeah! I don't know The Safety Fire, though

  11. Kind of like Back in Black after losing Bon, I'd call A Dramatic Turn of Events a comeback in some sense of the word (or maybe a general statement, if you like) after the removal of Portnoy from DT. And ADToE kicks ass.

Also, let's call every single song Taylor Swift does a "comeback single" because those breakups must be devastating and nearly career-ending.

  12. Stupid Dream listening = good life decisions.

And, no love for the Incident here?

Much love for The Incident here. Not just the first disc masterpiece, but Bonnie the Cat is one of my favorite PT songs of all time. It's almost Arriving Somewhere/Anesthetize level in my mind.
