hey, TT, do you have an invitayion to get in to this party?

Did I need one, or am I wearing the a-hole beer case?

  2. I finally got a guitar that I'm willing to completely strip and customize (free from a friend who mever used it). It's an old Squier Tele. I don't really care how it sounds, have other guitars for that, I just want to make it personal. And by personal, I mean turning it into a tribute to Rush. I was thinking about painting the arrow from S&A up the fretboard, and having the Starman painted on the pickguard. I was also seeing 2.gif being put on the 3rd fret.

Thoughts? Too excessive? I just want to make it different, really, and figured it would be cool to have a completely Rush-ized guitar

  3. In Losing It, by the time "The flooding through her memory, The echoes of old applause." I'm usually moved. It reminds me of my last "real" basketball game. I was on varsity in high school, but wasn't good enough to go on to play college ball (at least in a school worth getting an education from, which was really the prime objective). Intramurals just aren't the same as having a whole school hollering for you.

In OLV, "a spirit breaking free." Self-explanatory.

    Mission- Final solo!

Ghost Rider- makes me feel for Neil

    Afterimage- Self-explanatory.

Plenty more moving pieces, but those are the first few that came to mind.

If your initial reaction to the title of this topic is to recoil in disgust, you probably represent the majority of people in the world; guns have been responsible for incalculable loss of life.

While I am not going to go into a whole shpeel for gun control, I will leave it at I am in favor of stricter gun control and have never opperated a firearm.

I've never touched a real gun and if I have anything to say about it, never will. No offense anyone, but why a thread glorifying guns? confused13.gif I would expect to see a thread like this in the political forum, but not here - it doesn't seem appropriate, but maybe it's just me...

I, unfortunately, am in a position where I have to sell guns on an almost-daily basis. The only plus side to that is that I can deny people a gun who act as though they will be dangerous with one (i.e. a guy aimed one at his friend and said "bang, you're dead" like a 5 year old with a toy. needless to say i took the gun back and told him i wouldn't sell him one. also, one guy told me "yeah i have 2 .380's at home, but neither is legit. that's why i wanna get one here." again, i took the gun back)

"How many times must the cannonballs fly before they're forever banned?"

  5. I have a man-crush on Geddy.

I wish the foot-size thing was true.

The first time I heard the song "Serenity," which wasn't very long ago, I thought of Neil. Then, sure enough, Godsmack says it's about Ghost Rider. This leads to my 3rd fact- I should start a TV Psychic Hotline.

  6. My aunt told me this one:

She was taking my cousin, 5 at the time and is 6 now, shopping for his dad's present at Best Buy. She let him talk to the sales associate there, who was shocked to hear this 5-year-old say, "I want a CD with Subdivisions, One Little Victory, and the Drum Solo on it!" It's amazing how much he loves Rush and Dream Theater.

  7. I'm reading both Roadshow and Ghost Rider (it's hard to make time to read right now), and like them both. I think Roadshow is more interesting, but Ghost Rider is good because I love nature, being on the road, etc.

I dunno who started the whole thing about John not having any feel. Complete bullshit probably stemming from someone hearing he was a brilliant player and comparing him to Vai or Satriani (Who by the way both bore the hell out of me). All you have to do is pick up Scenes From A Memory to here how many different styles he can cover. The Spirit Carries On is one of my favourite examples of John playing with emotion and there are no excuses. If you can't hear it you're quite simply stupid. laugh.gif

Anyone ever go noodling for catfish? I've seen that a couple of times on TV. Pretty wild. I don't know if I would have the balls to go and stick my hands into the cracks and crevices on the bottom of a river. wacko.gif

I'm way too scared to try that...snapping turtles and snakes, not for me. I did see the "Girls Gone Grabbin'" video, which was hilarious albeit emasculating.

  10. Fishin is what I do...

I'm majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Ecology at Texas A&M, hoping to go to work for a management firm to work and manage private lakes. I've been fishing club (bass) tournaments for a few years, now am fishing with Aggie Anglers (on a side note, our top 2 guys won the national collegiate bass fishing championship this year).

Here's a pic of a 9.55 from Choke Canyon, TX in May.
