I'm on Lamictal and like it so far, except for being tired all the time. My Dr says I should adjust to it better once we get a constant level. Until we do, the thing that sucks are the constant blood tests. I've never tried diazepam for seizures, not as a maintenence drug, but I know I have been given it in the hospital to help stop Gran Mal Seizures. Thanks. We only use diazepam as an emergency thing - if a seizures gone on to long or they are frequent. She's on Epilim for maintenance, but sometimes we get night time Grand Mal seizures. They seem to only happen whilst she's asleep, especially if she's had a lot of physical activity. I worry about her meds being upped as this makes her dopey and tired. It's just finding the right balance I guess. Hope you're doing OK.

Glad things seem to be stable for you at the moment. Must be the time of year 'cos my daughter has been seizure free for a couple of weeks now! Having said that she's got a cold now so it's bound to upset everything. Hope everything stays OK.

Hiya Commiserations on having this horrible illness. My daughter has epilepsy too. Her seizures are almost always when she is asleep. If she's really tired or her med schedule has got screwed up the seizures are worse. She takes sodium valproate at the moment which lessens her seizures but she still has a couple of episodes per week. Last week she fell out of bed during one and I found her head hitting the furniture. i hate what this thing does to her. Every seizure free day is a big bonus. All the best to you
