I've had my St. Louis tickets forever, but I ordered them on the first day. I ordered my Atlanta tickets on the same day and they arrived months later. I guess it depends on the venue. Keep your confirmation information in case they don't arrive. If you go to Will Call they will confirm you and get you in as long as you have ID.

Did you order through the MusicToday presale or Ticket Master? I've contacted musictoday and they say they get the tickets from the box office and then ship them.

  2. There will certainly be US shows in 2012. They aren't going to start up production rehearsals and just tour for 12 or so shows in Europe. Wouldn't really be financially worth it. I would think it will be another US leg after the Europe run and possibly another to South America.

I'm sure the band are making money out of their UK/European visit.

I'm also sure they're fans are enjoying the shows, and by all accounts, the band members are too.

Sell out or partially filled arenas ? Lets be happy they are still able and willing to cross the pond.

Neil said in his blog that they needed to do the 13 shows before Europe to make the second leg profitable. He wanted to spend the summer with his new daughter, hence the early US leg. I'm sure there are a certain number of shows required to break even.

Didn't he use them also on the GuP tour when they played The Weapon?

Yes you're correct. If I'm not mistaken though they didn't use in ear monitors back then though. Just regular on stage monitors. In ear monitor technology wasn't that big or maybe even around back then?!?! Don't quote me on that though.

Neil used headphones for the Weapon etc as he had a click track running. However, for the last 8-10 years Neil hasn't used a click track even though there are plenty of sequences and samples. He relies on rehearsal to nail the tempo and adjusts during the song where necessary.

  5. Interviews with Ray Daniels, Alex and Geddy in the last few months have hinted at the album being finished in 2011 with a 2012 release. They are doing things at their own pace. In the past, they would have played longer tours with less time between shows. Now they are playing 3 shows a week without back to back nights. Fans want to see this tour... 8 months ago European fans were pissed that they where not included... same with cities missed on the first run.

If they finish the last leg of the US tour by mid summer, that'll give them plenty of time, while still sharp, to finish the album in the fall, take a holiday break and drop CA in the spring. That would give us yet another Tour in the summer of 2012.

Complaints aside, this is the busiest they have chosen to be in years. I'm all for it. As for cashing in.....? were people complaining in the past when they played 60-70 date or more, US tours?

    Rush not touring... complaints

Rush tour is tour short and not hitting Europe... complaints

Rush now touring too much??? complaints?

    there's no pleasing some people....

Be happy that they still choose to do anything at all.

Unfortunately their touring days are numbered, and once their touring days are over there's only limited money they can earn after that on media. Make no mistake about it. They are bucking for retirement money while their earning potential still exists. I can't blame the boys, really...

That's bullshit because they could EASILY retire right now with all the money they have.

Really? Sounds like you have some inside info. How much money do they have?

It really doesn't take inside info to figure out that after nearly 40 years of recording and touring, the boys probably could live out the rest of their lives pretty comfortably without having to work again.

But, honestly, how much money they have is THEIR business, not ours. I don't begrudge them one penny...and I have spent thousands and thousands and thousands over the years. They make me happy, and I love to see them, so I pay and I go as often as my pocketbook will allow. If I can't afford it, I won't go. But, it's important to me, so I find a way to see them at least once a tour no matter how strapped for cash I am.

And really, Rush's ticket prices aren't as bad as some. I know U2 tickets were really high priced (kept me from going), Roger Waters tickets are outrageous, and last February I spent over $100 a ticket for NOSEBLEED seats at Billy Joel/Elton John in Salt Lake City. Seriously, you couldn't get much higher up than we were...I was lightheaded from lack of oxygen at that elevation. laugh.gif It was obviously worth it to me or I would not have gone. I spent $100 a ticket for Rush this last tour in SLC, and had some pretty decent seats in the second section back from the stage on Alex's side.

actually.... after Neil's family tragedy he asked his accountants how long he could live financially without working at his current spending. He was told about 10 years, then he'd be pretty much broke. While it was a desire to make music again with Vapor Trails, it was also a desire to make money again. He spoke about it in his "Ghost Rider" book.

  7. yes... the tickets are expensive. Yes, they are more expensive than before... yes.. my bottle of Bushmills at the store just went up in price... do I still want the bottle.. yes... I pay more because I want it. Do I care if Maiden is cheaper... No... there are plenty of other acts charging more for their tickets than Rush... do I care.. No.
