  1. I’m sorry to bring this news but I’m afraid GedsJeans is no longer with us.

Shortly after Christmas I found out that she passed away. I’m guessing it was right after she disappeared from here.

I don’t have details but in the very few messages we exchanged I could tell she had a heart of gold.

I hope this thread never leaves page one for its obvious value but also to serve as a reminder to all that we never know what someone else is going through in their life.. Sometimes people with big hearts are hurting and keep it all inside.

    ..Rest In Peace

  2. Back to wing cars.. The rarest was the 1970 Charger Daytona. They made 3 and one was the only winged car to be painted Plum Crazy and it actually had a factory sunroof! Another was sold originally to singer Robert goulet, a red one I think. I'm remembering this from an old magazine from the 80's I wish I could find pics online!

    ...Since we're on trucks...

These were a ball to drive at the dealership back then. What Ford guy doesn't appreciate a good 351W?

Im building a 302 for my 97 ranger stepside right now, should have about 350-400 hp. Already got the 4 link and waiting for wiiiide wheels.. I show you fun when it's done :D

  4.

I almost covered my eyes on some of hose corners lol, I think they only built 70 of these things with a Hemi and most got wrecked racing.. so cool to see it being driven like that though!! I can't believe I have't seen this vid before..

It should have been in english. I would have liked to hear the commontery in a language I UNDERSTAND. I know what you mean though, MM! I got to see a few of those in Ann Arbor after they came out, and for many years after too. There still are a few of them around SE Michigan. Lots of gear-heads Here! Most can trace their lineage To SE Michigan! Farmers who have Barns with lots of room to work on Cars and their engines! The guy that was the Best Man at my first Wedding, had a '51 Ford Victoria Std. Coupe his father had owned. He retored it to pristine condition inside and out. It wasn't done in time for t he wedding, but he was an engineer at Chrysler, and got a Chrysler Imperial for our ride...White, of course.

I used to love watching Richard Petty in the 70's but I was too young to see him driving mopars.. Must've been a cool time.

There's a bunch of wing cars up here in Alberta too including at least one black Hemi Daytona, a white Superbird with about 100 original km (no joke!) and a farmer that has about 8 wing cars. Its amazing what hides in people's garages..!

  5. cars today are intentionally designed to crumple but in '59 they were designed to withstand as much as possible.

some point along the way they figured it was more important to use the car to save the driver instead of just save the car..

the real question here is what in the fcuk did they really prove by destroying an old classic car.. I mean it's not a mopar but still..

How far automotive safety has come? It actually seems really easy to identify what they were going for.

How far auto safety has come? They need to prove this??

Any way my post was sort of tongue in cheek.. I hate seeing nice old cars destroyed, even chevys!

At least it was a brown one ;)

    '69 Charger R/T vs. '09 Charger R/T would've made people explode

MY GOD man, Don't even joke.

Unless the duke boys are drivin the '69..

BO! look out! There's a dip in the road- Hang on cuz.. YEEEHAW!!!

  8. I remember a write up in the late 90's when Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top praised Big Sugar; I believe this was in regards to the band's 1998 album 'Heated' (released in the US in 1999).

Founder Gordie Johnson is also the bassist for another Canadian trio called 'Wide Mouth Mason'.

Johnson relocated to Austin, TX in the early 2000's and formed another hard rock trio called 'Grady', which initially featured drummer Chris Layton (of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble).

    Good stuff.

On a side note, since member 'blueschica' interests are muscle cars, she might dig the import version of 'Heated' and its lime green album cover with the vintage muscle car.

The video for the song 'Diggin' A Hole' features a 1970 Dodge Charger.

Thanks! Always up for a muscle car, although John Rogers is the Dodge/Mopar expert!

That charger looks like a 72. I think one of the band members might have a 70 though. There's definitely a mopar fan in the band, I had an album of theirs called 'Hemi-vision'

  9. This reminds me.. I've often wondered how many individual notes are contained in an entire Rush concert. You could even break it down to the individual members. I'm guessing Neil would produce the most using all four limbs..
  10. am I the only one who gets the point of this thread? nobody's asking anyone to do math..

basically I think the OP's point is just does anyone think of Rush when they see 2112?

answer is YES! we all do..

..and don't let another Rush fan get at your bank card because they probably know your PIN!

  11. sounds like a vid I watched a while back but it was one black hip-hop type guy and he was reacting to 2112.. it was actually quite interesting and I watched the whole thing.
  12. I have a question for resident drummers (where has Earl been anyway??).

It was inspired by this video:

How do you do two different things at once with your arms? How does one arm keep one beat and the other another beat or be hitting something else?

It's the rub-your-head and pat-your-belly thing, only with a bunch of bellies and heads.

But that's mindless. This looks like it's involving two different beats at the same time. That must take a lot of concentration.

The best example is probably Peart's 'drum also waltzes' bit. I can play a lot of Rush tunes and what I can't play still seems learnable with practice.. but that waltz thing he does just seems impossible..

  13. Celery is my only hated vegetable. Apparently you burn more calaries chewing it than what it's worth which makes it negative food in my eyes. It has all the worst qualities of rhubarb crossed with onions.. Evil shit celery is..

I heard it's good with cheese wiz though.

    I fcuking hate cheese wiz..
