    Very First Time

Bastille Day from ATWAS 1977 14 years old Friends of mine at school had talked me into to going to see RUSH play at the Glasgow Apollo on their 1st UK tour so I thought I should maybe get to Know the songs....so I borrowed ATWAS and listened to it again & again in my bedroom.
  3. QUOTE (farcryoverspilledmilk @ May 31 2008, 01:57 AM) Has nothing to do with a time issue at all. The rest of the show is being saved for Blu-Ray discs when it is released on that format in about 2 years...ditto the GUP concert that will be released for the first time in its entirety. Bollox!
  4. If he hadn't been part of it at the start we wouldn't have RUSH. Thanks for your contribution, you'll always be part of RUSH history. John Rutsey

    Famous Rush Fans

QUOTE (Huck @ Mar 7 2008, 06:18 PM) The Manic Street Preachers, there was a big article/interview in Classic Rock Magazine about them meeting our boys and what big fans they are of our beloved Rush. The Manics interviwed them & when the Manics played Glastonbury Nicky Wire had a patch on his jacket (before the S&A's tour). There is a thread on the forum about this.

QUOTE (TheRocinanteKid @ Mar 5 2008, 10:58 PM) QUOTE (Analog Brian Kidd @ Mar 5 2008, 09:57 PM) QUOTE (TheRocinanteKid @ Mar 5 2008, 04:54 PM) QUOTE (Jaye @ Mar 5 2008, 09:50 PM) Mick Pointer, Marillion's drummer. Ohh I didn't know anything about that! Do you know why he was fired? He seemed pretty cool to me. I prefer Ian Mosley but never understood why they booted Pointer. Because he was a shite drummer and a pisshead. Shite? Can't say I'd agree with that, he dominated Garden Party and Forgotten Sons. Naw, he was Crap!!
  8. It also says in Roadshow that even in the 70's when they would allow fans in at the end of the show to get autographs that he felt uneasy about it. that's just part of his personality, he's shy and awkward in the presence of strangers, just because your the Best Drummer in the World with one of the Best bands in the World doesn't make things like that any easier. I'd rather he was honest than be like some obnoxious f**k wits who put one album out & are so far up their own arses they think they're God!

QUOTE (softfilter @ Feb 18 2008, 08:28 PM) QUOTE (Docmilsap @ Feb 18 2008, 01:15 PM) Imagine leaving to go to work and not getting back to your wife, home and your own bed for months on end......don't fancy that much, do you?? Another thing to remember is, whatever questions you will ask or "Man your great" kinda statement you would say to him (lets be honest, you aint gonnae say something totally original). Imagine hearing that time after time/night after night, especially when your missing your wife etc etc. Neil more now than ever avoids publicity stuff to save him from any questions about the sad things that have happened to him over the years and let's be honest, he would be asked they questions....guaranteed. And as far as looking grumpy during a show....I know what my face would look like if I was trying to do a million and one things at the same time, with the added pressure that your band mates are relying on you and there are 1000's of people wathching. By the way, I sent my copy of Roadshow into the SECC in Glasgow and got it back less than a week later with a nice personalised message & signed by the man himself....not many "rock stars" would bother with doing that. The only problem i have with comments like this is, Alex and Geddy are going through the same thing(missing wives and family) and being told "Man your great" night after night. But they have to be available to the public and media night after night(meet & greets, interviews) I understand Neil should rightfully be cut some slack from what he went through in his life. But let's be honest, he's always been somewhat detached from public relations aspects from the beginning nothing new here. Ged & Alex don't have a problem with doing all the interviews so why should you? Try & be as supportive of Neil as they are. And if i'm not mistaken, is a meet & greet not about 30 seconds tops with no questions??

  12. I'm feckin amazed he can walk let alone sprint after the show he puts on every night. RUN NEIL RUN!!!
  13. Seen Marillion a few times before and just after they 1st got signed. My mates ex's sister ued to go out with FISH, that's who "Script" was written about. Seen them on the first tour with Hogarth in the Barrowlands in Glasgow.
  14. You make a lot of good points treken. I was one of the 1st people to see play in the UK at a half full Glasgow Apollo in 1977 and saw the every tour up to and inc the Hold Your fire tour. The release of a new LP was a major event and I purchased every album from AFTK up to G.U.P on the day of release but then they lost me. For that 10 or so years (@77-@87) I was a fanatic but unfortunately the music they started to produce didn't turn me on, Plus they stopped touring the UK. After a long break of even playing the old albums I started to listen to them again and fell in love with them all over again but the albums that left me flat still do I'm afraid. Iwas at R30 in Glasgow (2nd row) and will be at the S&A gig (2nd row again) LONG LIVE ......once a fan always a fan
