Flacco exposed the weakness of the Steelers...
The whole "bend but don't break" defense makes me uneasy.
Although, if Big Ben was the QB, the Ravens would have stood no chance.
Batch had a good game. That last minute pick really hurt his rating. A good fill in; however, I can't help but think the Ravens would have been toast if Big Ben was playing.
I guess we'll see in 2 weeks...

Being a Steeler fan, I'm not sure Troy could weather 2 more games a season.
That being said, I would love two or possibly three more weeks of real football. (There is talk of a second bye week.)
To offset the injury factor, the NFL would have to increase the size of the roster. That would result in more players making NFL money. I think that's a good thing.

That is a dilemma for the NFL. With Sunday Ticket, HD, big screens, comfy couches, cheaper beer and food, all at home. How do you get more people in the seats? (But, since I live in LA, we don't have a lot of live NFL options. Sure, I could go to SD for a game, but that just adds another $50 in gas and countless hours on the 5.)
I am huge Steeler fan. Finally got DirectTV. I was surprised at the number of empty seats at the game. When they flashed in to the crowd, there patches of yellow (empty seats) everywhere. I know Ben is gone, but opening day???!!!
I think we are going to see ticket prices start to come down in some markets. I think the NFL should promote more partial season ticket packages - family packages, etc.
There is going to have to be a shift from full season packages to one-game sales in the better seats.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out...

I was in a sports shop a few years back. There were a bunch of Pete Rose signed balls - who would have thought??? The owner of the shop was there and we started talking. He told me that Pete will sign anything. He said that he has a ball and Pete signed it "F__K you Bart!"
Back on track, the remaining schedule looks favorable for the Reds.
Magic number is 15.

Well, the first week is in the books for the Steelers.
Too funny that they were a home dog on opening day...
I thought the Falcons moved the ball well against the Steelers secondary. That may make it a very long season...
Reed missing a couple of field goals - not good.
Some of Dixon's decisions were poor. I think it is going to be a very long 4 weeks - well, now 3 weeks.
Troy seemed to be a non-factor until the interception late in the game. Great play. The cover scheme on that play was perfect. QB read that Troy was covering deep and threw it a little short to what he thought would be a for sure open receiver.
Great to see Mendenhall get that run to win the game. He was a workhorse. It was clear early on that the Falcons were going to play the run and make Dixon beat them. Lots of runs for little or no gain. I was surprised that he finished with 120 yards...
I hope Big Ben is working out hard.

Not a 2112 sighting, but my wife and I went to Las Vegas for the weekend and stayed in the RUSH Tower at the Golden Nugget downtown.
We had a drink at the Rush Lounge. Kept waiting for Rush to appear - missed it by one week...

As for Over-rated, I vote for Tom Sawyer...just becasue it is so overplayed...
There has never been a concert that I have been to that this hasn't been played...and I suspect that this is the case until the end of time...
As for Under-rated, I'll go with Losin' it. I really love the electric violin...it moves me to tears everytime...

So glad I am not a musician...
I have a great buddy that owns a recording studio. He cannot enjoy a concert because he notices all the screw-ups.
I was at Irvine. I thought the show was great. Geddy interacted with the audience more than I can ever remember - going back to the Signals tour...
There was so much more than "Thank you, goodnight..."
