  1. Whew! I was afraid we had to tell everyone we were buying NEW new music. Sorry, no Puff Daddy Diddy Mack or Backside Boys for me! Or WHATEVER the blue funk passes for new MOOZAK today. I recently acquired: Yes - Close to the Edge Rush - Presto (remastered) U2 - Achtung Baby (Hey, sometimes things fall through the cracks.) Rush - Counterparts (remastered) Beethoven - 9th (Choral) That is all for now. Nice thread, Moon!
  2. I s'pose it's my turn, as I've been long gone From this lyrical thread. I must carry on The fine good tradition that we've begun here And I'll do it all with nary a beer You see I've not purchased the goodly red ale Which often inspires so many a tale So I will trudge on, quite stone cold sober From now 'till at least the end of October Or later perhaps, if we carry on To many new pages, and much more good fun So let's raise a glass to me, thee, and she When really by this, I truly mean "we" So thanks for the effort and thanks to you all We'll keep you informed when Anthem does call They will want your poems so give 'em up nice You will get top dollar just heed my advice Hold out for the peak hold out for the most When you have a deal then you can boast That you did tell Ged just what he should sing And gave form and shape to Lerxst's ranting
  3. Hey married men! Some things in the animal kingdom are universal. And I do ALL the hunting while you lounge around all day with your buddies and when's the last time you took the trash out to the road and just LOOK at yourself... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/bsg2112/AnimalKingdom.jpg

  5. Female Drivers Lest I be accused of being a sexist (LIKE I CARE!!!! ), I'll have you all know I got these from a female friend. "Umm... ma'm? Excuse me! Did you wonder where the rattling noise and the sparks were coming from?" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/woman12.jpg "Ok! Now put it in Drive!" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/woman23.jpg "I don't care HOW MUCH you want to go on that 3-hour tour. That boat has already sailed!" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/woman34.jpg "Hey look! 7. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 23 2004, 11:02 PM) QUOTE (BSG @ Sep 23 2004, 09:15 PM) Here's an excerpt from the Classic Rock magazine article re: y'all's favorite object of affection: Q: Can Neil sing, or play anything apart from the drums? Geddy: He cannot sing. Alex: And he can't play anything at all, including cards and games. I saw this... Bless 'im....anybody that can play the drums like he does shouldn't be expected to sing OR play cards. Well, of course YOU saw it, GG! It was posted for the somewhat less......... devoted, ardent ladies 'round here. (Oops! Now I'm gonna get it from the other Neil-worshippers!)

Why thank you, thank you, my friend AGP For your kindest words and generosity In this we do, we try to do well Rhyming at times, is not easy to tell These verses we make, inspired by Give us that feeling of a "Secret Touch" That we may tap into the mind of the lyrical wonder The one known as The Professor, the God of Thunder Try as we might, we may never succeed To come close to the perfection that he has percieved We will continue, in this, our lyrical rant Just as Lerxst does, in his usual pant To you, men of we give great thanks to thee For the many years of music, to make us feel free So come all you talents, come all you wannabe's For this thread will not die if we keep adding our piece Let us wax poetic on the band we all admire And keep this thread going, the lyrics on fire!! Excellent LM! This is lotsa fun! ________________________________ I pondered an answer, as plain as can be But didn't seem right, to add just a smilie RR has does it, well why cannot I? 'Cause now even he, will let the verse fly! Well now that I think, what will I try next? These simple couplets have me really vexed So on to more tough and challenging styles Whatever is needed to invoke lots of smiles Some free verse perhaps or maybe haiku A ballad sounds nice, rhyme lines 4 and 2 Limericks, didactic, the fun never ends Just get off your duff, and share with your friends I know, isn't it? I'm having a great time with this Though Im thinking of this as I add this reply How can I respond with words that don't rhyme!! It would'nt be something like Lakeside to do To leave a thread bare, and some with no clue! So as I add these last lines, I say unto thee A hearty bravo! Those are nice lines BSG! Thank you so much, you're really too kind And now off to work, lest I lose my mind! And have I said yet? How I love your stuff? It's really quite great! I can't get enough! Why yes, BSG, you have said these things But I can keep listening, so come on and bring! Not often does my work get noticed so brightly Nor commented on so very, very nicely Have fun at your work, try not to be mad Fighting with computers is a no win fad Try as I might, try as I may My hubbehs opinion I just cannot sway He feels that my time here is spent all in vain That all that I do today could be thrown out into the rain He has no comprehension of the friends Ive made here And how that I hold them very, very dear Its not often you find friends of the same mind And I'd not want to lose any of you, or leave this behind So thank you dear friends, for my time I've spent here And know that I will always hold it quite dear I will keep on keeping on until I am through For driving my hubbeh nuts IS a fun thing to do He will eventually understand, this I do know Though not soon enough, to my hearts sorrow But I will be here until the end To sit up talking late nights with my friends That was sweet! Thanks.

  17. We've created a monster, that much is true But we'll go with the flow, as we always do So with that in mind, let me just say I'm sharing with all my good, busy day I'll skip past the boring, get on to the fluff Work bores me so, you don't need that stuff Move on to the evening, when shadows fell And all in my house was good and well Travis did homework, while Emily played (She's only 5 now, and can't be waylaid) Next year at this time she will be in school And someday soon make the boys act a fool For now she's at home, and blissfully so Soon enough, soon enough, she must surely go So now back to my boy, who sits in his room Working math problems, and fighting the gloom Just one more page, and finished you'll be And then we can talk of subjects many And tell me once more, what is it you're hummin'? It sounds quite familiar, I feel the name comin' That's Ludwig Van, as sure as can be And are you aware, it's his best symphony? Hot lashings of "Joy", Or should I say "nine"? Your music teach' taught a lesson divine For this my son, is surely the peak Of that which we love, and music fans seek The high point of man, enclosed in CD Much better than watching that lousy TV So off to bed, scoot! Get under your cover I'll culture you yet, my Beethoven lover!
  18. QUOTE (Singularity @ Sep 20 2004, 08:28 PM) QUOTE (BSG @ Sep 12 2004, 05:17 PM) Hold Your Fire The album meant so much to me at a rough time in my life. Absolute and without a doubt DITTO! Same here. I could consider many of 'em as my fave, but HYF just makes me happiest. Cheers me up no matter what.
  19. Where are we headed? It's hard to say But we'll have fun, along the way And so carry on with rhyme and pun Remembrin' that tis all in fun And here's another, off the top o' me 'ead But have no fear, and have no dread Cause one more hair goes with it too But this happens to ME, not you And so my shiny-pated brothers we Earthshine, Jack (and of course, me!) Will wash one more follicle down the drain And watch it go, with wistful pain "Earthshine" now "Headshine", "B" stands for bald We've yet to determine, what Jack will be called Chromes domes we, Unite! Unite! We can't give up without a fight! Hair plugs, weaves, and toupees yes! Will surely make the ladies guess Is that hair real or memorex? We'll let ya know after we've had..... luvin'
  20. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 20 2004, 11:12 PM) QUOTE (BSG @ Sep 20 2004, 07:58 PM) Just LOOK what you've started GG! Who, me?
  21. It was started by zed, innocently enough But soon we could see, it wasn't too rough To make a new rhyme, to make it slick But making it good, now THAT is the trick Creative juices a flowin', not a clue where we're goin' But we just carry on, as if we were knowin' Just what we were doin' as if we had style While folks were busy laughing all of the while With iambic pentameter and cute rhyming lines We plodded our way, ignoring all signs To the land of insanity, with nary a fear Can't make a rhyme? Just have one more beer! Now that's more clever than it was before In fact that woman there, she rolls on the floor And so this poor thread has a life of it's own Like an infection, we remark how it's grown It can't be tamed, like Frankenstein's creation Even the admins played, to our consternation It may last a night, it may be eternal But it seems to be best, when purely nocturnal For the stark light of day may not be so kind And we may regret what once seemed so refined Just one more couplet of this tortured verse And then my dear friends, please call me a nurse Ensure that she's smart, sweet, warm, and witty 'Cause the way I feel now is really quite.... fatigued
