You do everyone a favor and don't start...

Did 5k at lunch, 19:03 (couldn't quite give the late push).
May do another tonight, or leg exercises. Haven't decided yet.

19:00 should be a breeze for you, considering what you've been doing in a 10k. On the home front, I've been doing some fartlek training to build strength. I'be had a lot of success with it in the past, both in building speed & stamina, and avoiding boredom.Couple of official pics from my last race. I got a 5k next, target time under 19:00

Should be, but you never know (heat, hills, not your day). On Friday, ran 18:40 on my own. Yesterday I had booze, ate two plates of spaghetti and still ran 19:50, but hey, we'll see.
Sprints, and hills are the workouts I have been lacking the past couple years. Need to get on that.

Merged.

BTW, OP - do you want a thread merge with the other King thread?
Might be a good idea!
Alright, let me see if I remember how to do this...

Couple weeks ago, I went back to the town where I grew up to meet some high school friends.
They asked me how does it feel to come back home. I told them, remember in IT when Bill Denborough went back to his Maine town, everything felt small, nothing seemed the same, and he felt out of place? Well it feels like that.

11/22/63 is amazing.
Gonna check that out this year.
I hear if you like that book, you'd love Replay by Ken Grimwood. Replay was one of the best books I have ever read.

Book II of the trilogy.
For those who love sci-fi, this really fits the bill

I ran today...3.5 with the dogs, then another 6.5 alone. Felt great. I need to fix my diet, but it's tough with the fam and work pulling me in other directions.
That's my problem..Since I hit 45, I've got a tire that I can't won't lose.http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b277/barney_rebel/20150419_095428_zpsfiao3bkw.jpg
Losing 30+ lbs helps a lot.
I can't keep weight on.... I am just a couple years younger than you.
Also running over 1000 miles over the course of the year, as fast as you can run helps.
BTW, imagine if I was 300 less on that bib number? I would frame that thing...

Well I didn't do as well as the last race. The last 5k killed me. It killed everyone. The humidity kicked in and everyone was disappointed. 38:41

No, we're in the Southern Hemisphere...it'll be winter here.
But still hotter than up here, correct?

I'm impressed mate!!!!
I found out this week that I'll run the Rio Marathon in July, so I'll steadily increase the mileage in the next few weeks. I hope I can do it in less than four hours this time.
I haven't run a marathon yet. May be one day. Good luck though. Rio in July? That will be very warm.

Last year half-marathon time 1:25:10. Hope to beat that this year.

Tell us about it, Barney.
I'm doing 10km tomorrow. Should be fun!
Second 10k race this Sunday.
The last 10k race, I ran 37:44. Last year for the same race, I ran it in 45.52.
Yeah I have been training a little.
