One of the true great unsung heroes in progressive rock. My top-10 band ever... right there with Rush, Zep, Floyd, Van Halen, Yes, The Who and Genesis.
Best song: Lady Fantasty from Mirage. Pure friggin' awesomeness.

Where was the T4E footage recorded?

Being a lifelong Van Halen fan I gotta say that F.U.C.K and Balance are the best albums at this point of my "fandom". I love the Hagar era... absolutely love it. He's a great singer... one of the best voices in rock (along with Steve Perry and Brian Howe).
Feelin' is probably their top-3 songs ever. Eddie's guitar is straight from hell in this song. Absolutely stunning (and underrated) piece.

Listened to it four times so far.
It sounds like recycled, excess material from Animals and Wish You Were Here. Not crap but nothing exciting, either. Too many booooooring-fake-artsy moments for my taste.
I have the Deluxe Edition. The best tune is "Nervana" (great guitars). Ironically it doesn't sound like Floyd at all. :D "Allons" is another very good tune... that's full of The Wall elements.
My rating: **1/2 stars.

It was a brilliant document but I really disliked the way it put down the 80's "synth" era. Some best songwriting and musical creativity in Rush's entire career in PoW, HYF and Presto.

Hey... the new album is called "Rock or Bust".
This is definitely the latter.
-
So what? Colonel Parker sold Elvis singles twice. He just switched the A and B-sides over.
But then again he was a con man from circus. :D

Presto = Smart Rock. Not for simple, musically challenged people. :D

Presto doesn't belong in the same sentence as any of those albums.Ok, I have noticed a trend with this album: you either love or hate this...very little in the way of a middle ground...
Don't love or hate it...few gems on it, same ranking as HYF and PoW pretty much
PoW and HYF are masterpieces. Like, perfect.
Yes. So is Presto.
All three are 10 out of 10 albums.
Up there with Floyd's The Wall, Crimson's Red, Yes CttE, Led Zep's HotH & IV in my personal category. Perfect music.
No.
If it's okay to you, I reserve the right to choose which albums belong to my all time favorites list.
Thank you for your courtesy and co-operation.

I'm amazed that so many people like Waters-era Floyd but have never heard Waters' absolutely amazing "Amused to Death"-album. If it was a Floyd album it'd be in the top 3. It's so good.
Listen to it. If you like The Wall, you'll love Amused.

They were always cheap used, mainly because they cost shitloads of money to maintain (or then you had to be able to do the services yourself).
But now it's changing and the prices are going up, especially with the GTS model.
Check this out.

Just listening to Different Stages.
This album is like driving a Jaguar E-Type or Ferrari Maranello. Just pure HEAVEN.
They've managed to make even Roll the Bones and Nobody's Hero sound awesome in this. :o

I agree completely. That Camaro and Nissan GTR can blow top-of-the-line Mercs, Jaguars and Porsches out of the water and they cost half as much.
If you're looking for pure performance and good value, those cars can't be beaten.
And you could also put a supercharger in the old Porsche 928 and get a hyper performance car that still looks amazing, even by today's standards.
I'm actually amazed that this model came 1978... and even this facelift version 1987. If it didn't have those ugly pop-up headlamps (that only your mother could love) it could be a 2000's car.
-
Indeed. That's a great car.
Personally, I think the track times and performance numbers are meaningless after certain level. Jaguar, Porsche, Aston and Ferrari always offer something that new American cars can only dream of... SPIRIT.
Well... fastback Mustang and Challenger had that... but those new ones... not so sure. Hmm...
How about this Eagle Speedster? At least Jeremy Clarkson loves it.

Red Tide must be the most underrated masterpiece ever. I mean... how can you NOT like this?
Amazing lyrics, amazing drums, amazing guitar.... crazy, wild occasional jazz/funk elements, etc.
Set the volume up and LISTEN! Perfection.

Why?
It's pure crap. :D

Tight between ATTWT and Genesis.
ATTWT has Buring Rope and Snowbound and Genesis has Home by the sea/2nd.
But then again Genesis has also embarrassing crap like Illegal Alien.
I chose ATTWT but it was tight.
PS: Invisible Touch isn't all that bad. It's just the 80's production that ruins the album... the songs are pretty good.

My dream car used to be Porsche 993 Turbo.
But when I saw Jaguar F-Type R it suddenly changed. This might be the best looking sports car ever. It's just crazy good looking. :o

Niiiice necro. Although we might not have a more recent thread on this subject.
Those Jag F-Type coupes are sinister. Definitely a home run in design for the coupe and convertible. I like those "It's good to be bad" commercials for them. Claiming you make the bad guy vehicle of choice is some funky fresh advertising.
Yeah. I love it. Too bad I'm just an average guy who can only dream...
Here's a good comparison video.

What an useless poll. :D
Everybody knows that Seconds Out is their best live album. Almost all the best Genesis songs in one album.

Rush cover band uses actual Rush footage in ad

This is terrible! Call the Bobbies!
Ahh... I bet Geddy, Neil and Alex wouldn't give a shit. It's Rush cover band promoting the band and making a few lousy bucks for Christ's sakes!
