Install a fuel shut off valve. Theives won't get far. First time I ever rode in a Vette is when my Dad installed one on a 78 Vette. The only reason I wouldn't buy a car like that is because I would always be worried about it getting stolen. It happens a lot. The other day I found out that Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 spent 2 months in jail for stealing a car. Someone stole my aunt's car from a parkade and it was only a Buick.

If you want an investment, get a C3. If you want a Vette because of the performance, then go C5.
Sweet looking, yes. Performance wise, about as fast as a Chevy Sonic with the 1.4 L Turbo. :(The '82 was still pretty sweet looking

You can always put something bigger under the hood at a later time ... The C4s and the ones that have followed have very little resale value
The 78-82s are a great value right now ... Those engines are easy to swap
The C4 is dirt cheap in collector car purgatory while the C3 continues to rise in value. The C5 are just used cars continuing to depreciate.
Engine swapping isn't even necessary. The C3 in most states except probably California is exempt so you can modify the original engine. Which most times is basically increasing the compression ratio.

I loved hearing the new stuff on the CA tour. As a matter of fact, my daughter's favorite part of the show was when they played The Garden.I thought it was a bit much for so many SnA songs in a row, but CA worked perfectly. Rush isn't like touring nostalgia acts that need to stick to the hits. They're aware that 90% of the audience knows the new stuff, and would rather hear that and deep cuts.

He just turned 11. You can see him in the post I just made in the Post Pictures of Yourself thread. :)Happy Belated birthday, Lorraine! Sorry I missed it. I was out of town. :(
By the way, you share a birthday with my son. :)
Well, don't let it happen again. Next year be sure to be in town.
Thank you, my friend. How old is your son? :)

Here are some photos from the family trip out to Yellowstone and Salt Lake City.
Rafting on the Yellowstone river.
The Bear and Wolf park outside Yellowstone.
Here I am on a hike before my first cup of coffee.
We took ATVs up to the peak of Two Top mountain. I think that is in Idaho. There was still snow up there.
I was the last for 4 off road vehicles. I got a little dusty.

What's your budget? You can find some "affordable" big blocks from 1971 -1972, and the performance wasn't sucked out of them yet. If you are more interested in a classic Vette, that is where I would go.
If you want the performance of a newer Vette, you can get an early 2000 for around $20,000.

Other than Ged's voice being on the decline, I don't think there has ever been a "bad tour." Playing live is something the band excels at.

REM. Other than Rush, REM is the only other band that I ever considered to be my favorite band. Of course that is before I "rediscovered" Rush, and REM turned to crap. But their albums Murmur - Green are absolutely amazing.
It's really hard to vote against Sabbath though.

when Borat brings the blue bag down to the diner party...damn!An Honorable Mention to, Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. I don't think I've ever laughed as much and as hard throughout an entire movie as I did watching that. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up because you already know all the bits.

I like what I have heard. I don't know if I would dig a live performance though. With only two dudes, there would have to be a lot of "smoke and mirrors".

I never could get into the Dead. Zappa on the other hand is the epitome of an acquired taste. His creativity is off the charts. My vote easily goes to Frank.
Now if you don't mind, I have to get back to tending my dental floss bushes.

So what. More people have heard of Aerosmith than Rush.Coming up next from poll land, "who´s the best guitar player, Johnny Ramone or Eddie Van Halen?"
It does seem pretty strange to put someone who most people have never heard of and couldn't name even one song he did up against an icon like Jerry Garcia.
You're a riot. "most people have never heard of"? The only reason Garcia is a so-called "icon" is because he was part of that San Fran scene and many of his unwashed followers took so much acid they didn't really realize how crappy the Grateful Dead's music was.
Regardless of the reason, I think it's safe to say that most Americans have never even heard of Frank Zappa or any band he has ever been in.
