  1. When you live in a place that has many Cuban Americans it is impossible to not be constantly disturbed by the terrible accent Pacino uses in the film. No chemistry between Pfeiffer and Pacino as well. No way this is in running as goat

I'm in NJ, which has the third highest Cuban American population in the USA .... And considering I'm in NJ, am I not supposed to enjoy The Sopranos either ??

I understand not liking the film and thinking it is completely overrated ... But to me, part of the appeal is the unrealistic and over-the-top aspect of it, Pacino's performance in particular ..

Three years earlier when he did "Cruising", Pacino was in the middle of a similar controversy as the film was set in the world of underground leather bars ... And while it is obvious that not all gay men live that lifestyle, the film was constantly delayed by on location protests and has since been written off by William Friedkin and Pacino ..

I understand your point, but I just don't agree

Not sure where you're coming from with this post. His Cuban accent is so terrible it makes it hard to enjoy the movie for me since I understand how the accent sounds. I don't know anything about New Jersey or gay leather bars so that's up to you if you don't find them realistically portrayed based on your experience with these things in real life.

    Liar.
  2. I stopped watching ESPN years ago. The only time I have watched it is for Monday Night Football. I don't know most of those names that are getting thrown out, with the exception of Stephen A Smith (cocky sob), and Dr. Punch. I got sick of their east coast bias about a decade ago. Comcast Sports Net Chicago is where I get my sports news now.

Someone mentioned the old days with Australian Rules Football. I think they even aired professional rodeos! ESPN was awesome back then. There was a lot of auto racing too.

I find it interesting how a network gets big (MTV, The Weather Channel, ESPN), and then they get away from doing what made them popular in the first place. It doesn't make any sense to me. Oh well, I couldn't give a rats ass if ESPN goes under. Someone else will pick up MNF, so it won't make any difference to me. :)

  3. Bad is subjective. Personally, I like something on every Rush album, though several albums are, overall, underwhelming. Nobody bats a thousand.

    This.

There's at least a couple songs that I love on every album. Some albums I can listen to all the way through. Some I skip a couple of tracks. Some there are only a couple of songs that I enjoy. But there isn't an album in the library that doesn't have some material that I enjoy.

  4. I'd say that's a safe bet. He's said as much in an interview a while back. I'm sure someone here can find the exact quote.

Just a reminder, no politics discussion outside of SOCN. This thread is fine for answering TK's question but let's not start inserting our own political views into it.

Why not just move it? :P

Because if it answers the question for TK (who doesn't have SOCN access) without devolving into an argument then it's all good, yes?

It's very tempting, And not having access is his/her problem right? Can I start a thread outside of SOCN about Obama?

No you can't. The reason this thread is allowed to exist -- with it's limited permissions (keep your own politics out of it)-- is because it's about Neil, which means it's Rush-related. And seeing this is a Rush board, we allow threads like this to try and survive, again, with the request to keep it about Neil and Rush. And it's probable that it will be closed once the original question has been answered satisfactorily.

    Challenge accepted.
