I'd be more excited if it didn't feature that freak Tom Cruise.

You have to learn to seperate the art from the artist. Cruise, while clearly a freakazoid, can actually be an outstanding actor.

I agree with both of you...I hope it's good...I'll see it.

  2. Found another pic of the strat....still nothing on it.

As for the L-500...I went through my achives of mags from that time where the strat was discussed and all that is ever mentioned is merely an L-500...nothing else.

Today I was looking through some old guitar type magazines with articles about 2.gif and the very first page I opened to was one in which you can clearly see the headstock of the guitar in question. At the time the picture was taken, there was nothing written anywhere on the head...a blank canvas if you will. That's not to say something wasn't later put on there.

While looking through 2 other magazines from the same time period there is talk about the "Hentor Sportscaster", which is mentioned by name numerous times as well as discussion on its tone, and what components it has. The black strat and the red strat each get similar attention however they are never nicknamed, like the Sportscaster. I am under the impression the Sportscaster was the only one of the three to get this distinction. Evidently, the Sportscaster is a Fender Elite Strat modified and renamed. The red, and black strats were each modified and have a neck made by a company called Shark, out of Ottawa which might explain the blank headstock.

I think I have a picture of the black strat in question taken from the first row during a show in Hartford, CT Dec. 1985. I took it with a disc camera (remember those? nice and small but crappy pics) which would be after the P/G show on the video. Unfortunately I can't find the original and all I have on hand is this one http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u351/Discipleoflerxst/Lerxst-1-1-1-1.jpg and you can't make out a thing....If I find the original (I have an idea where it is, but it'll take some time to locate) I'll see if that photo reveals the answer to this mystery...but don't hold your breath.

I found that pic...no help at all although it loks as if there is something more than just a 4 letter word written there although it may just be a shadow or dirt.

This sucks, my work blocks anything fun or worthwhile so I can't see it.

I tried the movie's website but they only had the 1st trailer up as of the other day.

SPOILER! Highlight to read! I read some comments complaining there was "no squid".

Now since all of us have probably read the book I'm wondering how this could be possible? I mean don't you kind of REALLY NEED it to be in there?

Maybe they just didn't show it...I agree it kinda needs to be there, but then agian they might make something more "horrifying".

    [Mod edited to hide spoiler.]

    Take your pick...

    http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s282/rushbass/MyAxes.jpg

The 1993 Yamaha TRB-6P is my main axe, but I do also have a 1962 Fender Jazz, and a 1977 Rickenbacker 4001 in Jetglo... and by the way, the 1986 Clevinger Upright Bass on the right was previously owned and  purchased directly from none other than bass legend Stanley Clarke himself!  It is autographed on the bridge and the back of the neck..

Then I have my amp, which is the world renowned Walter Woods Electracoustic Ultra High Power amp... puts out 1200 watts RMS with a 4 ohm load, and weighs only 7 pounds!

The Rick and that color of jazz bass are two of my dream basses. I bet they play like a dream! yes.gif

    NICE CELLO MAN!

I had the Steve Austin action figure, too... but I had the 1975 original, not the 1977 version with bionic grip.

And mine didn't come with that plastic orange girder; it came with an "engine block" thing that he could lift. (See photograph.) I remember being able to look through his bionic eye, and peel his skin back to see the bionic parts in his arm/legs.

This is the one I actually had as well...apply aforementioned story to this model.

  8. There were some "cool" kids in my 6th grade class who made up their own version of that song....went like this

I smoke marijuana and I'm proud

    Part of an original crowd

and if you look around these days

there seems to be a marijuana craze

    Oh, I'm a pothead,

    he's a pothead,

    she's a pothead,

    We're a pothead

wouldn't you like to be a pothead too?

Another interesting drug fact about my 6th grade class was that at the annual 6th grade dance (complete with DJ and refreshmets) the DJ announced the most requested song by the class was Cocaine, by Clapton....

  9. I had that toy too!!!

I can remember knowing I was getting it for Christmas too because I listened at the bathroom door as my mom was telling my dad what to get me for Christmas (no my mom wasn't using the bathroom at the time). doh.gif She heard me and busted me...but I still knew I was getting it. cheer.gif
