  1. Animate just kicks ass. And sometimes, that's all you need.
  2. I love the way The Big Money opens, with that HUUUUGE keyboard sound. And the bass is incredible.
  3. The entire front half of this album is a tie for me. I picked The Enemy Within just for certain moments where Geddy's vocals hit me particularly hard.
  4. As hard as it was to not pick The Pass, I went with Show Don't Tell. It's one of their best straight-forward rock songs, and that first blast out of the gate is nothing short of incredible.
  5. Tough one. The first time I heard the chorus in Analog Kid, my jaw literally dropped. Plus, I love the lyrics. Winner.
  6. Anytime I try to list my 5 favorite Rush songs, the first one I put on the list is always Red Barchetta.
  7. I went with Natural Science, but Jacob's Ladder was a close second.
  8. I love The Trees, but the title track definitely wins this one. Complex, intricate, and amazingly beautiful, this song (and album) sold me completely on Rush as a band, rather than just 2112.
  9. This is probably the hardest choice out of all of the albums. The title track, Xanadu, and Cygnus X-1 are all among my favorite Rush songs, but I went with Cygnus for Alex's amazing solo. It leaves me awe-struck everytime.
  10. Don't feel much need to explain for this one, but since I'm posting in all of the other ones, I might as well 2112. For obvious reasons. Although, as a kid, I always loved Twilight Zone. The whisper track freaked me out.
  11. Bastille Day is the band's most rockin' song, but...Fountain of Lamneth is beautiful. So I went with that.
  12. By-Tor, for sheer power alone. Making Memories is a personal favorite, though.
  13. Finding My Way. It's the perfect way to start an album.
  14. I went with Force Ten (I first heard the live version on R30 and fell in love with it right away), but Turn The Page is a close second. Time Stand Still is great too, of course.
  15. I thought this was a beautiful film. Doesn't quite beat out The Departed as my fav. film of '06, but it's close.
  16. The Pass for lyrical content alone.
