  1. This thread is sweet, love the apple bowl on top...plus if you poke it to the center, the smoke will roll around amongst the seed pod area in which there is sometimes an air chamber.

Back when the Spinal Tap movie first came out, me and two buddies went to downtown Keego Harbor to see the flick at the local theatre. Per usual, we had a little weed, but no papes or pipes. We had used the beer can method before (not recommended-burnt aluminum and paint), but I had a much better idea. There was a bag of large pretzel sticks in the car that we were munching on the way. So I took a pretzel stick (about 6-8 inches long by 1/2" diameter) and my house key and dug a little one or two-hit bowl in the top of the stick (not the end-though that should work too). Then, I sawed of the opposite end of the stick, blew the pretzel dust off of both ends. Then all it took was some bud and flames and we were getting stoked for the TAP. 2.gif

  2. Thanks for all the reviews! I just love reading them. I wish you could add more links to the highlight "rare" tunes. Getting excited about Night Two in Detroit at Cobo Arena. I have upper bowl front row dead on to the stage. It will be a great night. I hope they play some tunes off Sonic Boom too...too bad I have to walk into a WalMart to get one...that's why I don't have the AC/DC album. 2.gif
  3. Cleveland show at the House of Blues...small venue. I cannot believe that I was able to see PT there at such a nice place. The sound from Stage Left was excellent...very powerful music. I wish I could have worked my way to the front, but that did not seem like a cool idea as the people were all very mellow...until the music happened. Excellent experience for my first show. I met alot of nice people there. Josh from Cleveland even bought me a beer! A fair number of Rush T-shirts in attendance. I hope they come to the Detroit area on the next leg. 2.gif
  4. I just finished the first run through of The Incident. I finally got my pre-order today in the mail...maybe Best Buy next time, lost two days, plus spaced out the download. Anyway, the album is an awful lot to digest in just one listen. There were a few catchy riffs right off the bat and lots of cool jamming. I look forward to my next listen later tonite at louder volume in my house. Has the potential for me to really love it...I'll just let it happen if it does. This album is from outer space 1022.gif . I look forward to the next jam session. See you in Cleveland, it will be my first PT show! Oh yeah, thanks to the old Rush Radio that played other proggy stuff and TRF for turning me on to the TREE cool10.gif !!!! 2.gif
  5. I never would have heard of Mastadon without being at this site. If a Rush fan recommends that I give a new band (to me) a spin, I'll give it a listen. I hope I can find a copy local, or its off to Amazon. Thanks! 1022.gif 2.gif
  6. I saw an advertisment on TV that mentioned it to be available in September. Well its the 25th today and I have not seen in anywhere in SE Michigan. Has anybody tried it? How much for a 6-pack? I wonder if it it Beechwood aged like normal Bud...I'll drink a 6-pack of any beer to try it out.
  7. Mr. Peart was at Freddie Gruber's birthday party. He was sitting next to Mr. Gruber at Mr. Gruber's table. Mr. Peart has Mr. Gruber as his drum teacher. Mr. Peart was there to honor and celebrate the man and nwo close friend who totally changed Mr. Pearts drumming style in the early 90's. Any idiot that does not personally know Mr. Peart and walks up to him in an environment like that is a fool. Did the poster walk up to say "Hi Freddie" to Mr. Gruber or was he being a fanboi and trying to impress only himself and later "brag" online about meeting him by saying Hi to Mr. Peart. Quite lucky that the poster (quite a name dropper as well) did not get kicked out. The occasion was to enjoy Mr. Gruber's birthday and why should Mr. Peart acknowledge someone he does not know in a private party setting like that? That takes away from his fun and the true focus of the evening. Heck if someone comes up to me and says Hi (insert name) and I don't know them...I get a bit freaky too! Lay off the man and let him live his life with his rules, not yours. 2.gif
  8. The Red Wagon is easily one of the best beer, liquor, and wine stores in SE Michigan. It is located on the West side of Rochester Road just north of M-59 in a strip mall adjacent to the Ford Dealer. I go there from my pad at Big Fish Lake to get the tasty beer every couple of weeks. There is a new beer shop on the West side of Baldwin Road about 2 miles north of I-75 that has a near equivalent selection. Sounds like a road trip today in time for the Lions game.
