Sorry guys, Counterparts is one of my favorite albums!

Worst song? Yikes, something from Test For Echo......as much as I LOVE some of the songs (Time and Motion, Test, Driven...) some of the tracks are so forgettable...
I can't even remember the track listing.....

trink39.gif I love Counterparts, too!! I've only heard T4E a few times and I'm not a huge fan of it. Not for the lyrics, just the forgettability! There are not a lot of things memorable from it.

Another thing...why do people put the quality cap at post-Hold Your Fire? I think honestly that Power Windows was a cold, generally mediocre album without feeling or spirit, and I think that Hold Your Fire was honestly too pretentious and cheesy for its own good (this is not to say that I don't enjoy multiple cuts from each, but I just mean overall)

You're right about Power Windows, but I disagree about Hold Your Fire. I love that album and I think the lyrics are from the average person's perspective. I think it's a really warm, straightforward, but kind of relaxed album.

I like certain songs but i mean like in general the albums blow

I think Counterparts is one of their most consistent albums! Are you including HYF and T4E with the list? Because I really like HYF, and I've heard T4E a few times and don't really dig it all that much...

  3. There's some thread about Rush songs that give you the most emotion and Bravado was up there! I don't have the album, but I have it downloaded (only temporarily) and I gave it a listen and said wtf.gif This provokes no emotion in me! If I feel like crying, I'll go listen to The Pass 1022.gif
  4. Hmmm... IDK what to think of that voice on the Necromancer right now... I don't know if Geddy could sing those lines without me laughing, either... Boy, this album is really consistent.... Now the race is Bastille Day vs Necromancer vs Lamneth... I'll vote 1 week from today smile.gif
  5. Just bought it today at Best Buy and I think it's a good album... On my 3rd time listening to it (at ITIGB now) and I'll weigh each song against each other...

Bastille Day: Rocker. Awesome. How many bands can rock out to the French Revolution??

I Think I'm Going Bald: Silly, but still a good song. I showed this to my dad (who's showing signs of male-pattern baldness tongue.gif) and he laughed.

Lakeside Park: I really like the atmosphere of this song. It's a good one to kinda chill out to.

The Necromancer: I think the voice-over thing really ruined the atmosphere. I think it would've been a lot more emotional if it wasn't for that dang voice. Minus that, it's a good song.

The Fountain of Lamneth: Not their best 20-minuter, but it's quite good. If any other band did this I'd be like "Holy crap!!" I really like how it portrays growing older and what-not.

In conclusion: The race is close between Bastille Day and The Fountain of Lamneth. I'm going to give the rest of the album one more listen before I decide.

    For some reason
i suck at anything in the 4.999-2.500
    Range.
Anything above or below that i get in all the time.
    Current Best: 15

Same here! But my best is 33 (like I already said...)

  7. The Paper Toss game is really fascinating to me because if you try to play that (even without wind) in my school, "La guillotine will claim her bloody prize", so to speak eh.gif

EDIT: Wow, I just got 27!! BEAT THAT FOOLS! 1022.gif

  8. I'm not posting my vote yet because I don't have all their CD's, but it's really really close between Natural Science and 2112 with Natural Science barely edging out, but I don't have Caress of Steel, RUSH, Hemispheres, Presto, RTB, or T4E yet eh.gif...
  9. Fountain of Lamneth

    LAKEside Park

    FOUNTAIN of Lamneth

Both have to do with water, plus they're both on Caress of Steel.

Not as in the subject of the song, but there are things related to water in the titles, ya know...
