  1. I want a title of some sort.

Give it time dude. I didn't get one until I had 10,000 post in the bag. A member title is something you just can't force...Kind of like a fart. You force it too much, you may not like the outcome. ;)

    Phew... Only 616 left then!

  2. I don't really care about how it was written, I just care about what was written. Meaning I rather focus on the qualities of an episode rather than focus on the fact someone wrote it on a computer. I have a bunch of Brony friends, so I know almost everything about MLP.

As for the premiere, I just think the writers are too worried about satisfying their much older audience. The show would be much more enjoyable if they made episodes like they did in season 1 and 2. And I wouldn't say that it was intense. All the girly features, like unicorns and rainbow ponies, just kill the intensity for me, just like the mayor's clown costume :P Anyway, to me it was just a typical episode. It's not like it was another Crystal Empire or anything.

Just as for a side note: the only character I can relate to is Discord.

I totally see where you're coming from on the fanservice thing... It was especially suspicious at times in season 3.

  3. Season 4 premiere.... What did y'all think???? :D

It wasn't anything special, just like the show itself. It's really nothing to be crazily obsessed with. To be honest, it's a nice show and all, but all the girly features like unicorns and rainbows just kill it for me.

I liked it a lot...There were things that were a bit rushed or glossed over, but there was plenty to make up for it. There's a collaborative review of it on Youtube by a couple fans and one thing they pointed out that I agree with is that the dialogue int his episode — particularly when the Mane Six is each experiencing the ill effects of the Everfree magic — feels so natural, it's crazy to think that someone sat down and wrote it out at a computer. Now that's not to say that this is the only show where that happens, or that it happens all the time on this show, but it's pretty uncommon in a children's show.

I was also really happy with Discord. It's still hard to figure out his motives, and it doesn't really feel like he's reformed.

The animation quality was a nice step up from the last season. And how about Luna's transformation? One of the more intense moments in the show; again, something uncommon in a children's show... Very fun to watch!

  4. Where has he been anyway? Perhaps preparing for the grand event?? Or listening nonstop to his Vapor Trails remix CD that just arrived finding still more wrong with it??

I think he gets into spats with people on other boards, so he may be having too much fun elsewhere. It's also possible he's become captivated by the Twilight series again, and can't stop reading long enough to post.

Maybe he's being entranced by My Little Pony. It's only a matter of time.

  5. So Volition is out there. I had a few listens and I think it's great. Mist is one of the catchiest things they've written. My other standouts include Animals Bones, Clarity, and Drumhead Trial.

I'm only about halfway through, and the music is fantastic as always, but it seems on first glance like the lyrics took a bit of a hit this time around. Not a big fan of the unequivocal political statements about.... pitbulls.

  6. funny thing is that despite raising all that cash they still signed with a reord label!

That's for distribution. The whole point of the campaign was so that they wouldn't have to spend their tour just trying to pay back the record company. They now owe the company distributing their album nothing. It's a much different situation than most bands find themselves in.

Ok, I see that point and I'm liking what I'm seeing on the video and the perks and was shocked and glad to see a band raise a buttload of money on word of mouth and crowd-funding and all, but don't they have to pay a certain fee to a record label to distribute their product to stores, or is there something I'm missing?

    Just a curious question.

I'm sure the record company keeps a cut, but the band will be able to keep a lot more because they aren't in any debt to the company before they start.
