  1. It's an awkward situation. To have all the members up there would be strange because you'd have two guys wearing the same makeup (two space aces and two cat men). It could be that Gene figured it could only work with one lineup and it would seem fair to use the most recent lineup since they lasted a lot longer. the first lineup was only around for about 6 years.

Personally, I prefer the original lineup, myself.

Heart has had personnel changes over the years and they managed it. The guys in KISS have always been assholes. That's just all there is to it.

And remember the MTV special when (Ace & Peter) joined the "current" line up at the time on stage and played together. That was the start of the very first reunion tour plans. All seemed to get along fine for that ocassion. Why couldn't they just once put on a brave face for this special event?

  2. Maybe Jimmy Haslam should sell the team to Ted Stepien..that guy could run a team...

Is that guy still alive? If not, so much the better (for the team though not for him...)

    He's dead.

Ted Stepien what horrid memories that brings back, Your being sarcastic I hope... "that guy could run a team" into the ground that is! lol The Cavs fight song was a polka and our great long time radio play by play announcer Joe Tait quit or was fired depending on who's telling the story. Returned when the Gunds became the new owners of the Cavaliers.... On the Browns latest continued soap opera, I find the majority of Browns fans ( including myself) happy that Banner & Lombardi have been removed. Never were either held in high regard right from the start most still remember Lombardi's first failure here and his underhanded dealing of the popular Bernie Kosar. It's all unsettling to say the least, but once again at least this month :eyeroll: Willing to see if all of this pans out into something positive. Hell ,what choice do we have???? I will say like Pettine's news conference , Ray Farmer seems to be cut from the same cloth a no nonsense guy and was honest, enthusiastic and to the point carried self confidence and made it clear winning football games is the sole priority needed to change the culture here...Sounds good best of luck we've been waiting and the stop watch is ticking... ;)
  3. http://www.cleveland...ncart_big-photo .... I can't keep up, all i can say thought both of them Grumpy (Banner) & Dopey (Lombardi) were clueless so guess this was a good thing? Ray Farmer new GM ... Numb at this point, all that is absolutely clear is Haslam has been and is the mover & shaker in all of this ongoing turmoil. Keeps on contradicting himself to the fans in press conferences showing confidence in the people he has hired and what plan? ... they have in place, just grabbing at straws & knee jerk reactions...

What the hell is going on with the Browns these days? Does Lombardi and Banner firing put Pettine on the chopping block some time in the near future? It's endless!

It really is, Haslam & Banner were at the Pettine press conference ( curious Lombardi absent) Like i said, Haslam doesn't exactly exude confidence that there's a core plan direction in place for the Browns. Everytime you think ok here's the pieces in place this is the tools were working with lets see what happens.. Then, nah don't like that let's blow it up again...
  4. Memories fading with age but there's a few that still stand out on the plus & negative side.

Rush Signals tour Richfield Coliseum still ranks for me as one of there best concerts in the 15 times I've seen them in the Cleveland area since 1980. Just don't want to dwell on it to much cause i could probably name a half dozen more!! :P

Others, Yes Big Generator tour was excellent, John Cougar Mellencamp Lonesome Jubilee, U2 Unforgettable Fire I thought the band was at there best not yet but on the brink of world overexposure... ... Negative Van Halen Fair Warning , they were trashed when they came on stage played terrible Roth mumbling stumbling on stage threatening to fire the lighting crew. Then I seen Halen following year Diver Down and complete opposite really great concert.

  6. What if weather positively, affects the game, by, you know, being played outside in the elements, rather than antiseptic non weather conditions.

Just play the f***ing game, no matter the weather.

Damn straight!! It's football get back to the core of what it's about , all this bloated commercial b.s. over sensitive nonsense. I want more outdoor games in natural winter northern settings. Make mother nature a factor to deal with like they did in the early NFL championship games!!!

  7. I caught the end of Pettine press conference on rebroadcast last night coming home from work. And the word that's been often described he has a no nonsense approach. And that was reflected in the news conference not a man with many words and said himself wasn't comfortable at the podium wanted get out of his suit and get to work. On the brief time I heard him what he did say made me feel that of all the rejections and possible other choices that the Browns could've ended up with. Mike Pettine seems this early on, to be the correct choice.

Even if his daughter not exactly thrilled with dad coaching " the browns" tweet in lower case..

  8. Could this finally be it in Cleveland?

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Browns will attempt to hire Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as the franchise's 15th full-time head coach on Thursday, according to team sources.

The development comes one day after team brass voyaged to Florida to sit down with former Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano, the latest -- and surprising -- name in a long list of candidates Cleveland has spoken to since firing Rob Chudzinski on the heels of a 4-12 campaign. Schiano has been ruled out as an option, according to Rapoport.

Pettine has toiled through two rounds of interviews with the Browns and flew back to Cleveland on Thursday for a third meeting centered on who will coordinate the defense and call plays for an offense still lacking a franchise quarterback. Rapoport believes Pettine is the only candidate in town Thursday to meet with the club.

Pettine reportedly wants the job "badly" and sounds willing to work with a crowded front-office structure that includes CEO Joe Banner and general manager Mike Lombardi under Jimmy Haslam, the team owner who has played an active role in the search.

Pettine, who also was once the New York Jets' defensive coordinator, helped Buffalo's unit achieve a franchise-best 57 sacks last season in a scheme that saw the Bills attack the quarterback and haul in 23 interceptions. Both totals ranked second in the league.

From what I'm hearing on Wknr it's appears that Mike Pettine will be named the Browns 7th headcoach since 1999 & 17 overall since 1946. Announcement looks like it will come out today..
  9. You know what pisses me off ( well with the Browns i could write a book) but when the three stooges Haslam, Banner, Lombardi made such abrupt decision to fire Chudzinski, You had to think and HOPE!, OK management acting this quickly they must have a plan and somebody lined up already... I guess not... :sarcastic:
  10. And I don't want to hear about the discomfort of these modern NFL millionaires :boohoo:

Did you ever see those old NFL highlight films of title games from Cleveland ,Green Bay, Detroit? Seen a clip from Browns vs Rams 1950 Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Players huddled around burning trash cans to keep warm, some even wore hi top sneakers for cryn out loud.

  11. I wish they would just pull the plug on this it's glorified flag football...

I'm waiting to see if enough players beg off the game to see if Weeden is named as the 26th alternate....

 That far down huh? You see now that could be a more interesting game concept, The worse players chosen for the equivalent of the Razzies award for worse movie and actors. Cleveland's Factory Of Sadness would be a perfect fit for the game site... :P
  12.

Yes, all of us are racists because when someone makes a fool of themselves, we say they look fooling.

yes, all of you who have never said anything you shouldn't have said in the heat of the moment, I'd swear this was the "Saints" thread with all the sanctimony being displayed here!!

It must feel special being perfect!!

"and odor free"... Sorry quote from John Candy to Steve Martin Planes Trains and Automobiles :outtahere:
  13. Along with a new head coach, and Norv Turner with Ray Horton gone now on the coaching staff. A Quarterback, running back, second wide receiver to compliment Josh Gordon more help on the offensive line. A legitimate pass rusher draft pick Barkevious Mingo a disappointment along with over priced Ravens pick up Paul Kruger impact was almost nonexistent... Geeez it's worthy of a twilight zone Que Rod Sterling "Imagine a professional football team returning to the NFL in 1999 ... 15 years later it's still stuck in1999.."

So has Mingo not worked out so far? I haven't heard much about him during the season I must admit. Looks like him and Dion Jordan are similar. And Kruger didn't produce either?

 Since the switch to the 3-4 formation between Mingo,Kruger and Jabaal Sheard they accounted for a combined paltry total of15 sacks... Although the Browns defense was climbing the ranks of respectability, later part of the season they consistently caved in during the forth quarter. Games in which they had a opportunity to win. Loss by blown pass coverage assignments( even the great Joe Haden had some surprising mistakes ) and just straight out terrible efforts at what defense main purpose is,, to tackle... :sarcastic:

Did they tire because of the ineptitude of the offense and being out on the field forever?

Of course I don't put ALL the blame on the defensive 4th qtr collapses.. There's more then enough evidence to blame on the Browns disjointed offense and lack of team cohesiveness by the Quarter Back carousel. Definitely fatigue was a factor by the defense having to return on the field so often. I don't know where the Browns ranked on 3rd down conversions but they had to be near the bottom.

  16. Yeah Trent is the real deal his 950 yards, 11 touchdowns set a new rookie record for a Browns running back. Jim Brown had 942 yards and 9 TD'S in 1957. I think that's pretty impressive feat to achive since the old rookie record was and still is set by the greatest running back in NFL history.... And Richardson with broken ribs damn that's old school tough!!!

He's good but Brown set the record in a 12 game season.

Trent Richardson is good? The man is a Colts legend!

 What a difference a year makes... On the head coach fruitless search, Although the draft pick selections for Cleveland is favorable for someone coming into this toxic situation and plenty of cap space( with the help of unloading some dead weight) Fact is if they do get a coach of higher caliber and say he wants complete control of his team in who he plays and player evaluation... Not going to happen with Joe Banner, Mike Lombardi and owner Haslam they interfere and want to micro manage.... And last thought it's pretty amazing this team has five pro bowlers more then any one else in the AFC North division but then again out of a 52 man roster the rest... :eyeroll:
  17. I wonder if this is why he drops the ball so much...greasy hands?

Or why he crashed his motorcycle twice shortly after we drafted him......................

Talking of the Browns what's going on with them, why no Head Coach yet?

Well, I dont think we are the most desireable job, apparently we are looking at Denver's OC (what the heck does he do, hold a clip board for peyton?) All the others we were looking at got hired, apparently we are looking at Cincy DC

Also the Cowboys special teams coach... :wtf:

    http://www.dawgsbyna...r-rich-bisaccia

Yea were going to wind up at the bottom of the scrap heap as usual. Although Chud was screwed people tend to forget he was not there 1st 2nd 3rd 4th but 5th choice or in better terms had no choice...
  18. Terrible stuff from the Bengals...they were the team that looked like the wild card team who barely made it...

There is no culture of winning there and they do not know how to win big games.

They do just well enough every year to keep Marvin Lewis safe in his job. This is his 11th season in charge.

With yet another playoff letdown, could Lewis' job be in jeopardy? Wouldn't make sense with the constant success he has built the Bengals in a legitimate Super Bowl contender (at least in preseason predictions/regular season). But curious if Cincinnati management, media and fans feel like they hit a brick wall with Lewis at the helm and need someone to finally take them to the next level? I remember John Hart firing Mike Hargrove Cleveland Indians head coach even though his teams went to playoffs five years straight and two WS appearances. Getting there wasn't good enough

I would hope that the Bengals have clear enough vision to see that Lewis isn't the problem. When the quarterback insists on throwing really bad interceptions and blowing games, how is that the fault of the head coach?

Well... I guess they have a different philosophy here in Northeast Ohio... :sarcastic:

    How's that working out? :)

:ebert: .... Same as it ever was
