My thoughts exactly. I think the memories are too painful for him. I know it probably would be for me.

That being said, I hope he doesn't come to regret getting rid of them. Auctioning these off can never truly sever his link to Rush, as much as he may want it to. They were a beautiful band whose influence will never be forgotten.

It's not for me, to be honest. I've definitely heard worse but just not really my style. I'd probably like it more if Al's guitar playing stood out more. I am happy that Al is still making music though.

I do like Western Sunset however, a very touching Neil tribute. I will revisit this album another time and maybe it'll grow on me more. Good for Al for branching out.

Adam grew up and went to school in Manchester, NH I believe. He's a New Hampshire/New England guy.

What made me laugh today was the Yu Gi Oh abridged series on YouTube. I dunno, I just find it funny. 

Breaks my heart whenever I get a reminder like this that Rush is done. I'm sad that he would auction them off. At least he's still making music but I guess the reminders those guitars gave him weighed pretty heavily. Something tells me Geddy and Alex had just as hard a time accepting that Rush was done as we did, if not more so.

While La Villa is a stronger musical piece, I went with Limelight for the guitar solo. It just makes me feel intense feelings whenever I hear it.

I just felt like posting this. Them performing the Analog Kid at my show in 2012, although this wasn't recorded by me. Seeing Alex nail that guitar solo almost made my 14-year-old self burst into tears. 

Maybe Ged and Alex read these threads once in a while to stroke their egos. If they are reading this...hey cuties, how's it goin'?

Now I'm listening to La Villa. My brother drummed this one at a drum recital several years ago and nailed it!

Great song, seeing it live on CA tour was amazing. That guitar solo got one of the biggest applauses of the night at the Manchester NH show.

You might be aware of Neil's mention that the lines "The fawn-eyed girl with sun-browned legs dances on the edge of his dream" is an actual memory of his from working at an amusement park in his younger days. I really like that song, a lot. 

To be honest, if that's all they're looking for, then I don't think they should be going to the thread called "Geddy is hot." Preferred setlists probably aren't gonna be there. 

I'm more of a Geddy gal but here's a thread bump. We can't let this thread die along with Neil!

After looking through the Geddy and Alex threads, I definitely saw some not-so-G-rated comments (especially in the Alex one), so I guess that answered the question I had before.

I am very sorry to hear this. I didn't get the opportunity to talk to Lorraine much but I'm sorry she had to suffer like that, and I hope she's at peace now.
