Nope actually not even in my top 20 at this stage.

i had  a three year period......2012-15 where rush was my obsession......i think i burned out.

    Mick

I've gone through phases like this too where I didn't listen to them at all for a while. After a period of time, even a few years, I always come back. I think the same will happen with you or at least I hope so...I certainly see you on this forum often enough so there must be something keeping you here.

Plus, it's another brick in the wall Neil is always building between he and the band's fans. Okay, Neil: being famous can be tough. I get it. But no one's making you sit behind the kit, eh?

I do always wish he was a TAD better with the fans, but I can tell he appreciates them.

  3. Yes, 100%. I listen to a lot of other stuff but I've known for over a decade that Rush is my favorite band. Their lyrics speak to me on a very deep level, their musicianship is top notch, and the brotherhood between the three of them, as well as their dedication to their craft, is palpable. A world class one-of-a-kind band.

I don't think you're crazy to think that but if the Beatles didn't come along when they did who else would have changed the face of popular rock music? If the Beatles and Hendrix didn't become famous when they did, rock music would be much different now. We might not even have rock music now if they weren't around back then.

I agree. So this whole thing about "so-and-so wouldn't be famous if they came along today" is almost a moot point. Someone has to come along and usher in new styles and techniques which always eventually become old ones.

  5. I see a lot of cool people on here, and I hope they stick around, at least in some capacity. Indeed people move on to other things, but I know for me, I don't think I'll ever completely abandon this forum now that I'm here. I may go through a period of weeks or even months without being on, but I'll always come back. Rush has been an influential band in my life since I was about 8 or 9 years old and I feel like I'll always have something more to say, even given that they're retired.

It looks like you responded to just about all of them back in January.

Perhaps you filled your quota of Totem Poll replies?

Oh, I didn't realize there was a quota. I kinda wanted to re-post and change my opinions on a couple of them, but oh well.

Scroll past Neil's writing and you will see Alex at his height of physicality,  he truly outdid any rock star of the ages. Super buff!!

Agreed! He is almost tied with Geddy as far as attractiveness imo.

"Goodbye to these incredible tools that helped to create this. My legacy. I will love you all forever!"

I am really sad to see him auction off these guitars. It hit me hard for some reason. Truly the end of an era.

I just got thinking, what is it that makes us find Geddy physically attractive? I'm just very curious about that, cause I know why we find him attractive for other reasons, but physically I wonder what it is we see that pleases us.

Good question. There are a few things for me. First I think he has a really good figure, slim but not scrawny and still looks healthy. Second, I always thought his tinted glasses look really cool. Third, no man rocks the long-hair look like he does. And finally, I think we can all agree that he has been aging really well. Looks almost the same since the late 90's. :imo:
