  1. After that result in Paris tonight, i must admit to having serious bad JuJu about Wednesdays game with Portugal.. who have yet to hit form !

    Agreed.

 Thanks a lot for the depressing thought -

I just realized how much Ronaldo reminds me of the whiny Anakin Skywalker - He's a spoiled brat, he cries, he has serious anger management issues, he's self-absorbed and yet sadly he does possess some skills.

  2. So...a heck of an Irish sports day for me. We have championship Irish hurling on tv...I arrived in Killarney to find out thst the Killarney team was hosting the football championship...and they won! The streets are teaming with 10,000 drunk leprechauns and hobbits!

And Euro 2016 is about to start... Can't wait to see them all mimic the Iceland chant!

Hurling? does that take place after the drinking competition?? :P

  3. Gomez out of the rest of the tournament with an injury.

Andre Schurrle will probably replace him

 Big bummer - If Ronaldo would play half as hard as Gomez does perhaps Ronaldo would be out for the rest of the tournament also. :banghead:

  4. Why is boxing a sport???

    :P

I use to watch with my Step Father for years but then I watched Boom Boom Mancini destroy Duk Koo Kim who died three days later and that changed everything for me. I was sickened by the death but just as equally I was disgusted of how Mancini was treated after that fight. It was like he was to blame. It was obvious the Ref blew it by not stopping the fight, that is not Mancini's responsibility. He lost sponsorship's and was only known from then on as the one who killed that Korean. They train and tell a guy to fight his best and then you criticize him for doing just that. That coupled with the obvious corruption such as Don King turned me off forever from it.

  5. England's nightmare continues, Wales in the semis.

What a great game - What spirit showed by Wales. To bad they lost their best player from today, Ramsey was all over the place. Don't understand how you can carry 1 yellow card all the way into the quarters and then you get booted from the semi's for one more questionable call. :wtf:

He would've been fine had he gotten that card in the semi. They erase all the yellow stuff after the quarters. Bad luck. You do realize, however, this puts Ronaldo in the final, right?

Ronaldo doesn't have 1/100th of the heart every one of the Wales players have. He wants it for all the wrong reasons which means there is a good chance "Wales Prevails" :P

  7. Shea Weber to the Habs for PK - I'm a happy man. No I'm not a racist. Just don't think PK is an all around player like Weber. PK took stupid penalties that cost his team a few games. Also not a team player. Yeah it's awesome he could stay out on a PP for the two minutes but what good does it do if they don't score because he has no gas left at the end.
  8. Poland-Portugal, Wales-Belgium, Germany-Italy and France-Iceland. Poland vs Iceland in the final, right? :codger:

They just better shut out Portugal and that little baby forward they have. :sarcastic: If they do that then i'll pull for them the rest of the way -

  9. God i hate PK's - No not PK. PK's are just as stupid as ending a game 7 tied world series with with a home run derby - Complete stupidity. They have no place in a championship

Golden goal guy, eh? They tried that and moved away from it because it looked like a 5 minute overtime in hockey. I think penalty kicks are a better way to decide things than what they did back in the 70's. I still remember the Gornik-Roma semifinal of the Cup Winner's Cup, where after three tied games, the coin was flipped, declaring the Polish side as the victors.

Never would have expected that from a NHL lover. Sudden death even into the fifth period is the best. - UEFA / COPA and World Cup could have some sort of setup where after the extra period they allow more substitutions also reduce the number of players etc... something to increase the possibility of a Golden Goal. The problem is Chile takes full advantage of the Shootout, they play for it hacking the crap out of Messi - They take zero risks all game, BORING as hell, proof is the shots on goal 18-4 Argentina, then Chile takes their chances in the shootout, two years in a row. - I'm sorry but that's not championship caliber soccer.

Playing on and on is unrealistic in soccer, especially in a one-game playoff format. Say France takes out Iceland in regulation and Germany and Italy go into 5 overtimes. It would be totally unfair in a tournament like Euro 2016. I'm afraid penalties will have to remain. I will agree however, that in a final, you can let yourself go and introduce the golden goal or some other things.

I should have clarified that - I do agree it should only be in the final -

  10. f***ing disgraceful.

Out of Europe and Sterling worthless. Twice in a week.

A tough week for the Empire, for sure. Seeves you right for screwing up everyone's investment portfolio!

Poor distraught multi- Millionaire Millennials they just couldn't handle the thought of the EU relegating them. :P
