I've read Fountainhead and Anthem. I liked Fountainhead- it was very thought-provoking, and I love anything that will stretch my brain like that.
I read Anthem second. It was kind of disappointing after Fountainhead- actually it felt very much like an extremely simplifed version of that book. Almost like a children's version, if you will.
Now after seeing what you all have said about it, I want to read Atlas Shrugged.

I like Dog Years. It always brings a smile to my face to hear it- it's a cute song.
It's sort of like "Boris the Spider" by The Who- not the deepest or most intellectual song ever written, but it's FUN, dammit!

^^ Wow, that's a very good rant, RushGoober.
(Going off topic here) I have to admit that I feel the same way about Kansas (another one of my favorite bands)- everyone knows Leftoverture and Point of Know Return. Few people are familiar with their first three albums- which IMHO are superior to the more popular ones.
(Going back on topic) I may get into the more "obscure" PF later, but right now I'm still trying to collect the more popular stuff and see how it hits me. If I'm still interested after that, I'll start getting into the other albums. I'm truly sorry if that offends you.
That being said, you guys are a bad influence on me- I come to a Rush forum and am encouraged to buy Pink Floyd albums!
Tell me, if I have the choice between Permanent Waves and The Wall which one should I choose? Keep in mind that I already have Permanent Waves on minidisc.

One Of These Days is a Floyd song! It is the opening track on their 1971 album 'Meddle'.Really? I didn't know that! LOL!
Test4VitalSigns: What is Animals like?
EDIT: Wait a minute, I remember the song now. That's the one where he says "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces!" (Duh!)
That was a pretty cool song IIRC.

I have a giant poster of this (54 inches by 39inches)Hey, I have that poster on my wall too!
I'm not a HUGE Floyd fan; I have DSOTM and WYWH. Both are excellent IMO, although I like WYWH better than DSOTM. One of these days I intend to buy The Wall. Maybe Animals. I think I'll eventually buy Meddle too- I heard that album on the radio once (yes, the whole thing!) and even though that was about five years ago I still remember it.

I've never tried honey in my coffee, but it sounds interesting.
Right now I'm drinking a Smuttynose Winter Ale. It tasted terrible when it was cold, but now that it's warmed up a bit it's pretty good. Kind of sweet though. For the money there's other beers I like better.

QUOTE (Dread Pirate Robert @ Dec 11 2005, 11:17 PM) QUOTE (Tull Fan Too @ Dec 11 2005, 10:17 PM) Just cracked open a bottle of "Woodchuck Amber Draft Cider" (hard apple cider). Good stuff- when it's in stock at the local supermarket I can't get enough of it. I like that stuff too. All the Woodchuck cider varieties, actually.
How many varieties are there? So far I've been able to find the Amber, Granny Smith and Pear. The first two are both excellent, but I wasn't too fond of the perry.

Shame on them... naming a beer after you and not even giving you any royalties!

I'm proud to be a second-generation Rush fan.Welcome!
Thank you!
Looking at the poll results, I see I am part of a very small minority. I know most women my age don't like Rush, but I didn't think it was this bad...
Well you just need to recruit some more damnit!
LOL- as a matter of fact I am working on converting my Mom. Of course, that still won't help my age group.
Most of the people my age that I know wouldn't know good music if it hit them over the head. I tell them what kind of music I listen to and they look at me like I have two heads. Oh well, that's their loss.
