Pretty Fly by the Offspring is such an overplayed song. I cannot stand that band. They are just utterly terrible.

Taylor Swift destroyed this song.

Paula Cole insults other women in her songs, specifically blondes. Yet she claims to be a feminist.
A lot of people were ticked off when she won the best new artist Grammy. She was the Esperanza Spaulding of her time.

I hate this song so much. I can't stand that woman's voice. I always muted it when they played it on Dawson's Creek.
I was reminded of it again when I was watching Love Island today. The fact that it's so overplayed makes me hate it even more.

Getting drunk isn't cool anymore. A lot of that has to do with social media and people like Lindsay Lohan.
About 20 years ago you were a social outcast if you didn't drink. Now it's like the other way around.
A lot of people are going on juice binges. This is why some brewers are adding fruit flavors to their beer.

People are drinking less alcohol than they used to, especially younger people because it's not considered cool anymore. A lot of them are choosing coffee or energy drinks instead of beer or wine.
I know some guys who still drink beer and I'm ok with that, especially during the playoffs. But wine just seems to me like it's a drink for old ladies. I could be wrong.

I'm reading A Summer In Sonoma by Robyn Carr because I liked the cover and it seemed like a good summer read from the title of it alone. I accidentally stumbled upon it when I went to the bookstore to search for novels by Iris Johansen and Philippa Gregory.

I tried watching the reboot but I just found it too boring.

I watched Donnie Darko again. The director's cut is so much different from the theatrical release.

I just finished this book today. It's the best novel I've read in years.
I can imagine it being turned into a film starring George Clooney.

I watched Eraserhead. It gave me nightmares. That is one really messed up film.

I used to think GnR had more than one singer. Then I found out that Axl did all those different voices himself. I was actually impressed. He said he started doing that when he was a kid to fool his choir teacher. I've always admired him as a multi-instrumentalist. He was able to keep the band going even when all the other members left for so many years because of the in-fighting. Though I think it was wrong for him to call it GnR when it technically wasn't. He should've called Chinese Democracy a solo album. It was good that that they all finally got back together for the reunion tour. I think Axl looks a lot happier now and he's in a much better place than he used to be.

Before I had my own Appetite for Destruction album, I borrowed a copy of it from my sister. I remember listening to it for the first time before I fell asleep. The last song Rocket Queen started playing just after midnight. It gave me the chills and was almost like a lullaby. It felt weirdly like it could've been written for me. That is my still my favorite GnR song after all this time. I really love the last half of that song. The final verses are so meaningful to me. There is a lot of strong emotion in Axl's voice. Rocket Queen just represents that uncertain point of time where I was stuck in a rut, having family problems and trying to decide what to do with my life. I have never seen GnR with all of its original members, but I've seen Axl and Slash separately.

I thought I replied to this thread but my post disappeared. I haven't watched this series yet but I read the book. I'm a huge Margaret Atwood fan. I read a dozen of her novels and met her twice.

1. anything by Justin Beiber
2. Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson
3. anything by One Direction
4. anything by Taylor Swift (sorry Segue)
5. Closer by The Chainsmokers
I like this list so I don't need to make my own. Call Me Maybe was the first one that popped into my head.

Magic Mike
:ebert: :ebert: :ebert:
It was based on Channing Tatum's life before he was an actor. Some reviewer actually gave it 4 stars (probably a female). I heard that there might be a sequel.

That reminded me of that movie What Happens in Vegas with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. They weren't allowed a divorce after they got married drunk. Then they were fighting over the jackpot they won. I won't give away the ending because I don't wanna spoil it for anyone.

I also misunderstood this post. You should reword the title: "Live versions that were better than the studio version"

I tried reading Anne of Green Gables, but I couldn't finish it because L. M. Montgomery's racism bothered me too much. She basically hated everyone who wasn't a WASP. She especially disliked the French, Italians and Arabs. After doing a Google search, I discovered that she hated blacks as well. She called them "heathens" and used the N word several times in her stories. Why are this author's books still taught in so many schools? A publisher had to remove several sections of Montgomery's personal journals because of their racist content. An author like that doesn't belong on my bookshelf. That's for sure.

The petition is never going to work even if they get over 1 million signatures. The actors aren't coming back and the series cost $15 million per episode to produce. If people really want to effect change, then they should just cancel their HBO subscriptions. I think a lot of people were going to do that anyway after the series ended because they only signed up to see that one show.

I have an ear infection. I'm not feeling well. It's because of my spring allergies and the bad writing in Season 8. I'm so so angry about how they've assassinated Daenerys's character. It's an outrage. She was a heroine and a role model for millions of young women. A lot of babies have been named after her in the past 9 years. They built up her character for 7 seasons. She seemed like a selfless woman who was honestly trying to make the world a better place. She was a fan favorite for so long until they turned her into the Mad Queen. It's like Batman suddenly becoming the Joker 20 minutes before the end of a movie.

I tweeted an expert from Outdoor Life magazine. He said that crossbows are considered obsolete except for a small minority of hunters who still use them.

The People vs Larry Flynt. I love Woody Harrelson. He's my favorite actor of all time.
Here he is at Wimbledon. His facial expressions are so hilarious.
