QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Nov 5 2004, 10:15 AM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Nov 5 2004, 10:10 AM) QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Nov 5 2004, 09:29 AM) RR, I didn't know you were into astronomy. I own a few very nice telescopes, one of which is my Celestron Ultima2000 8" computerized with all the goodies! I love it to death, just don't get to use it enough.
Here is a photo of a Triple Eclipse on Jupiter, very rare indeed!
http://www.mikekreidel.com/triplejupiter.jpgYou took that shot????
NO......hell no. I wish I could get shots like that.
This is from the Hubble.
I was gonna say! You mentioned your scope and then showed that photo....kinda misleading!

QUOTE (Snowdog @ Nov 4 2004, 01:22 PM) To me, the marine biologist episode was a masterpiece. Most of the different story lines in each episode would intertwine with each other but the way all of the story lines in this episode intertwined (is that a word?) with each other was just exceptional. I chose "The Contest," but "The Marine Biologist" was brilliant, especially after Jerry told George's old college chum that George was a marine biologist, when when he was actually unemployed. Later they're in the diner and Jerry is telling George that he ran into her...
George: Diane DeConn? You saw Diane DeConn!
Jerry: Something huh?
George: Yeah! How'd she look.
Jerry: She looked great. She asked about you.
George: She did! What did she say?
Jerry: "How's George?"
George: George! She said George? She remembered my name. Diane DeConn remembered my name. She was the "it" girl!
Jerry: Yeah she asked for your number, I think she's gonna get in touch with you.
George: OK, I'm tellin' you right now if your kiddin' around I'm not gonna be able to be friends with you anymore. I'm serious about that. You got that?
Jerry: Expect a call.
George: Oh my god he's not kidding.
Jerry: Now, I should tell you... at this point she's under the impression that you are a.....
George: A what?
Jerry: A marine biologist.
George: A marine biologist....why am I a marine biologist?
Jerry: I may have mentioned it.
George: But I'm not a marine biologist!
Jerry: I'm aware of that.
George: So?
Jerry: You don't think it's a good job?
George: I didn't think it was a job!
Jerry: Oh. It's a fascinating field!
Jerry's delivery in that scene was perfect. I laugh my ass off when he says, "Now, I should tell you..." because you know what's coming.

QUOTE (BSG @ Nov 4 2004, 07:10 AM) Alright, as discussed with Jack, a new day in the movie quote game brings a new quote from the same movie... So, the new rule is we have to provide a new quote every day until somebody solves it? Some movies don't have a lot of good quotes, but I think it's worth a try. I put up two quotes and a bunch of hints with that last one.

Sixteen seasons and counting...that's so amazing.

QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Nov 3 2004, 08:54 PM) Miller Miller has a lot of nerve calling any of their products "beer." Blasphemy!

I had a bottle of Young's Double Chocolate Stout in the fridge for the longest time, and I finally broke it open at the Halloween party last Saturday night. It was extremely yummy...rich and stout-like, with hints of cocoa and coffee. A great "sit back and enjoy" brew.

QUOTE (Slim @ Nov 3 2004, 02:00 PM) I don't like the Macallan myself - a bit too syrupy. Probably great on pancakes, though I haven't tried. I prefer:
Talisker
Laphroaig
Ardbeg
Glenlivet
GlenfiddichI liked Laphroaig also. Bought a bottle (15 year) for a friend's bachelor party. Nice and spicy!

QUOTE (BSG @ Nov 2 2004, 11:15 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Oct 17 2004, 11:15 PM) Next:
Cop A: "I've been trying to get you all night. Why don't you answer your f***ing beeper?"
Cop B: "I just want to tell you, that the next time I'm suspended, so is my F***ING BEEPER!"Holy Schnikies! Are we still on this same quote?
Is it Blue Thunder?
FINALLY!!!!!
The high-tech chopper was the hardware I was referring to, and it stole nearly every scene it was in. "Blue Thunder," released in 1982, starred Roy Scheider (who was one of the stars of a little movie named "Jaws," Moonraker!
), and was directed by John Badham, who also directed "Saturday Night Fever!" It features some of the best helicopter chase scenes ever filmed, including one through the streets of LA.

QUOTE (paganoman @ Nov 2 2004, 01:58 PM) Another 48 Hours? It wasn't a sequel, nor did it have one of its own (that I'm aware of).

QUOTE (Drumnut @ Nov 1 2004, 11:03 PM) Anybody watch the pre-Election SNL on Monday night? No, I watched some of "Mad TV." That show is pretty good! The "Jeopardy" skit was well done.

"Before we're done here...y'all be wearing gold-plated diapers!"
"What does that mean?"
"Never question Bruce Dickinson!"
-
"The last time I checked, we don't have a whole lot of songs that feature the cowbell!"
-
It's a fine idea...it just needs a little more cowbell...

QUOTE (Snowdog @ Nov 1 2004, 04:12 PM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Nov 1 2004, 04:05 PM) I guess I'll give it a shot first.
"I have some truths to say to the fellow men in the audience. It's you're fault there's so much violence in this country and it's you're fauld there's so much violence in our country! You are ruining our society and you should be ashamed!"Is that from the Rosie O'Donnell show?
Either that or "The Ellen Degeneres Show."

QUOTE (Moonraker @ Nov 1 2004, 11:13 AM) War Games? Remember, this is a cop movie. I also said that this wasn't your normal cop movie, and that is because -- here's another hint -- a piece of hardware was as much a star of this film as any actor.

Excellent use of imagery, RR!

Any guesses? This movie isn't that obscure! Another hint: It was made in the 1980s.
