  1. Regrets about a few of the things they've done while on the road.

I assume you’re referring to Alex wearing that paper bag on his head and scaring the girls out of Gene Simmons room?

I've never heard that story if you're being serious (though it sounds like something Alex would do). I'm just saying that a bunch of guys who have been away from their significant other and/or wife and/or kids much of the time during their 20's and 30's definitely have some regrets...."I can learn to resist anything but temptation".

If you’ve never heard the stories about The Bag, do look them up. Alex can do weird things

  2. The death of Tom Petty knocked me sideways. I just couldn’t (still can’t) come to terms with the idea of him being gone. Too young. Too vital. His music seemed to always be there somewhere in the background. I played the Wilburys at my husband’s memorial service. Yes there are other names on that list which are important but none like him

  3. I hate:

    Baked beans (make me vomit)

Men who talk down to women like we couldn’t possibly know anything

    Having my body fall apart

Not being able to drive fast cars and having no place to drive them legally if I had one

Bad drivers, like those who drive too slow, don’t use turn signals, get in the fast lane and drive slow

Scarey movies. Yes, I’m a wimp when gore and monsters and bad things start happening

    But I love kittens!

  4. I haven’t been able to sleep for two nights in a row. This is hardly unusual, but the whole time I’ve had Tom Petty songs on continuous repeat in my brain. I love them and I haven’t come to terms even a little with his passing, but I need to get his songs out so I can sleep. I tried listening to some Rush this afternoon to fix my brain. Hope it works. I watched all 4 hours of the Bogdonovich movie the day he died.

  5. So much for friends.

    Life goes and moves on..................................

It's okay Lorraine. I don't have many friends either. Sometimes it's better that way.

Stay locked and loaded. :) Or is it loaded and locked? Well, anyway, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. ;)

I feel most comfortable when I view everyone around me as an enemy. You get caught off guard less often that way.

Good idea. But I couldn't live my life that way.

You can be my friend, Lorraine. I’d never hit you like that. I use words

  6. When I was working (retired now) I really loved my job. I was a librarian for almost 40 years in different areas but all behind the scenes. Making systems work right, designing new ones, maintaining data bases of various sizes up to humongous. I love solving puzzles, figuring out how things go wrong and fixing them. I was a manager of 14 people for a while and did a lot of travel and public speaking. When I moved to Oz I got a job at the National Library being just another cataloguer. I still managed to find problems to solve that nobody else was willing to do. I almost hated to retire but my health demanded it.

  7. Tories, by Thomas B Allen, since I have a few in my family tree. The Hydrogen Sonata by Iain M Banks, his last Culture novel before he died. As all the other novels in the series, it is weird, witty, and slightly twisted.
  8. Geez! I leave the board alone for a few days and weirdness breaks out. I’ve always wished to be normal, just one of the crowd, but I think I have a weird streak. Like I want to dress fashionably but then I wear snarky T-shirts and socks with flamingos on them. I like hard rock music at an advanced age instead of country or pop. I’m not really comfortable in groups but tend to say something inappropriate rather than retreating. So there. I can’t really pick an appropriate category but I’m Not Johnny Blaze or treeduck
